Default Alternative to VO5 Strawberries&Cream

Hi guys,

I've been using VO5 Strawberries&Cream for awhile now, and I LOVE the slip and lightness (my hair is pretty fine so it can't take anything too heavy I don't think). But contrary to all the reviews of it that I read, I seem to be the only person who HATES the smell. lol. I think it smells fakey and obnoxiously sweet. I tolerate it because of how it makes my hair feel and mostly for the price, but I'm coming to the end of the bottle and I'm ready for a switch up. I'd love some suggestions of a VO5SC alternative. Nothing too sweet, just something fresh. Has to be CG, of course, and something that isn't too heavy, lots of slip. Like I said above and what's in my hair type below. Also animal-friendly if possible.

Thank you!!!

Maybe Suave Naturals coconut? It has a nice smell and is light.

OMG I feel the same way! I'm not picky about fragrances, but I HATE the VO5 strawberries and cream smell. VO5 has lots of great conditioners for co washing. I use the kiwi lime personally My hair is fine too so I can relate. As far as animal friendly is concerned, do you mean vegan or not tested on animals? Like oh.hi.its.steph said, try suave naturals. I've never tried anything besides the coconut which was too heavy for me, but I've heard good things.

I went to Target and smelled the Suave Coconut. Not a fan of that either; certainly not obnoxious like the VO5 S&C, but still not my favorite. They didn't have any VO5 ANYTHING, I have no idea why. But they DID have Kinky Curly, which I've always wanted to try but have never been able to find. I bought the Kinky Curly Knot Today. I know a lot of curlies and kinkies use it as the regular leave-in, but I've also hurt of wavies and finer curlies like me using it as a rinse-out conditioner, which is how I'm going to try it. It's sweet-smelling, but not fakey. The fruit smell definitely smells clean and not overwhelming like the S&C. Thank you guys for your input!

Also, yes, I'm a vegetarian and animal lover, so I always try have things cruelty-free. Kinky Curly is and I'm very happy! Obviously I was bad with the VO5 S&C, but it was cheap. It was hard to pass up 89 cents at the Navy Exchange for a bottle that big...although, is it just me or do you end up needing a lot each time, anyway, because it's so runny?
