The matrix version did not penetrate my hair for some reason...I wanted to retry this winter but if they changed the formula, I'm not so sure anymore.

I like it but not for daily use because like you said it's sooo thick, it's just impractical. That being said it works great if you leave it in for 5+ minutes, the slip doesn't happen right away but if you wait a few minutes it's great. It's good for DTing.

I love it! I use it as both a RO and a LI. I only use GVP and gel, no other stylers, BUT my hair is thick and coarse and sucks up moisture so I can see how it might weigh some people's hair down. My hair doesn't get very tangled so I don't have an issue with that. As far as the bottle...I keep it upside down in the shower so it doesn't have to make its way to the top each time.

It works for me as a DT and sometimes as a leave-in. I usually use a much lighter conditioner, but when my hair starts getting 'big' near when I need but don't have time for a DT, it's great. I used to use it daily when I first started CG, which helped me get a lot of moisture, but it also weighed down my hair a ton.
I solved the impossible bottle-wranging problem though! I wanted to save the rest of the bottle I had at home to take with me to college so I washed out the empty tub from some KCCC I had just finished, cut off the top half of the GVPCB bottle, and scooped the conditioner into the tub. It's worked really well so far!

Yepp, I finally bought some last week as well as that sorry a$$ As I Am Hydration Elation....I was so UNimpressed that I wrote a review in curlmart. Both were mediocre. I use the GVP as a moisturizer for my ends at night but nothing to detangle with.....I'm just trying too use it up.

Just bought this because of the good reviews I have been hearing. I used it as a rinse out and detangler and I added a bit to my deep conditioner. The roots of my hair weren't very moisturized, the rest of my hair felt okay but no better than usual when I use my Giovanni deep moisture, Aussie, Tresemme naturals or Suave. It actually feels a tad less moisturized which was surprising because the product is so thick. I think ill have to give it a try for a couple more weeks before I make a final decision on whether I like it or not. I did not like the smell at all, it smells like a salon to me but not in a good way.

I wasn't impressed when I tried it, AOHSR is thick too, but I like it much better. GVPCB felt weird going on and detangling was not any easier because there was no slip. It did seem to "melt" tangles, but that took a lot of smoothing and my hair didn't feel especially moisturized.

Yeahhhhhh, I like it this way also. My daughter is 4a and it REALLY worked as a DT for her.....the results were even more noticeable on her.
Lately I've been rinsing, putting on the GVP CB, sealing with oil, then braiding in 4-5 braids and sitting under my bonnet until dry.
It's been working so awesomely so far, especially with these cold mornings. In the mornings I just unbraid and refresh with my water/oil mix....instead of having to immerse my entire head. Or smooth sections with wet hands and scrunch lightly. I rebraid, or pineapple, at night and sleep in my satin bonnet.

I was thinking I was the only one. I bought it because of all the good reviews but it didn't work for me. For some reason my hair felt dry after using it and it made my scalp itchy. I only used it twice I couldn't deal with the itch. As soon as I stopped using it my scalp went back to normal. The bottle is frustrating as well. It's hard to get the product out. I am planning on giving it to my sister and see if it works for her since its practically full. Now I am using DermOrganics masque as a RO/LI/DT (depending on the day). So far I love it. It leaves my hair soft and helps with the frizz.

I used to LOVE it, but now my hair is liking light conditioners better.
After fighting that stupid bottle for far too long, I ended up buying a cheap (dollar store) wide-mouth tub container with a twist on lid to empty the conditioner into before I use it. After squeezing as much conditioner out of the bottle as I can, I take a box cutter and cut off the top of the bottle to scoop the rest out. Such a pain, but it's better than fighting the bottle.

I want to try it because I think my hair type would like a super thick moisturizing conditioner but until they reformulate it to be sans parabens I won't. It's okay though. I like conditioners, but I'm more concerned about leave ins and oils and things I can do and put in my hair in between washes to keep it hydrated. Anybody else feel that way? I found my co-wash holy grail early so. . .

I recently began using GVP conditioning balm again, and I find I like it very much. Maybe it is just the right combo of products. My stylist on Thursday remarked that my hair felt really good. : )

I don't use this for detangling just not enough slip and way to thick. t is moisturizing tho. Recently, I poured some into another bottle, added some water and protein filler. Shake shake shake and used it as a detangler. Worked great.

I was out for a couple weeks and finally got some more - I had forgotten just how fabulous it is! Such an HG for me!

It's a great cowash and it works well with oils for a pre-poo. It's not a good leave-in for me b/c of the minimal slip.

Really?? I get GREAT slip with it! And my fine, dense, long, porous hair needs a lot of slip! In fact I'm kinda a slip snob!
It also gives me great clumps!
