Default talk to me about curl enhancers.....

I think I need one. What is your favorite? How do you use it? What gives you the most bang for your buck? Which ones do a decent job w/o breaking the bank? Can you make your own?

Thanks!!

I use Sheamoisture curl enhancing smoothie. It's about $11 after tax for 12 oz. I dnt use a lot if i showed you the jar you would say i dnt use it and ive had it for weeks. I put it over my leave in and under a gel. It helps me maintain my curls for 4-5 days.

I also like Shea Moisture's curl enhancing smoothie under my ecostyler gel it makes my curls/coils pop! . Tresemme naturals nourishing moisture conditioner mixed with a little coconut oil and shea butter also help to enhance my curls sometimes.

Leave-in mixed with EVOO, then KCCC mixed with EVOO works for me...

I've had good luck all summer without needing much additional enhancement and have been using CJ Pattern Pusha alone. Today I added a pump of SS CEJ and have curls on top of curls!! SS CEJ has always been a great curl enhancer for me.

My favs are Uncle Funky's Daughter's Curly Magic (expensive), KCCC, SS Curl Enhancing Jelly (prolly the most "natural"), Curly Kinks Coil Jam (sort of creamy)

Lots of people make flax seed gel. I am not crafty nor do I have the desire to try! Here is a good place to start for FSG:

No-fail flax seed gel - I finally did it...TWICE!

and if you decide to go the route of the more expensive curl enhancers (like the ones I listed), I'd go through kathymack to get samples.

FSG is the best I've used. I add several things to it (avg, Epsom, protein, oil, etc). It's cheap, easy, and really effective, though there is some trial/error as far as getting the hang of making it and what/how much to add to it.
But I get the best enhancement and clumping with it!
I'm actually out right now and haven't had time to make more. When that happens I use some GFPC mixed with some LAL beach waves (or whatever it's called), and sometimes some avg mixed with it.

Also, if your hair likes protein, that can be very curl enhancing. CNPF from Sally's is great and can be mixed with condish or even made into a spray.

HTH!
