Ive had clear dye and blowfry - feedback please

Been off boards for a month been so busy so hello again everyone.

Anyway, on thursday I had my usual clear dye and this time I decided to have a blow fry for a treat.

I expected it to look awful because my hair had felt horrible since I got preggie again, but the result was amazing and my hair was so sleek and shiny.

I was really suprised and loved it, havent seen my hair like this forever.
I knew that just looking at a cloud would make it frizz up but thought I'd enjoy it while it lasted, since then I've been swimming and had two scorching baths, and it still looks nice.

Its been so much easier for me and I dont need to mess about with it at all.
I also think I look better but please tell me what you think I need help deciding.
I was thinking of braiding it overnight for some pretty waves what do you think???

Pics in fotki, please excuse uglyness I've had flu for two weeks and look gross.

I like it. Sometimes it's just plain easier to have hair you needn't fuss with, & if you can get several days out of a blow-out, go for it! I also think it makes you ends look less thin than when it's curly, so that's another plus. The color is gorgeous. Oh, & I had exactly that dining table when I lived in Norfolk 10 yrs ago! Loved it. Wish I could find similar here.

Thanks, even I'm starting to like my colour now. I love my curls but only when they're first done, I'm beginning to get bored of waking up in the morning and realising they've all gone weird
Dining table? Ok so i've had two in the last 6 months, which one are you looking at, the fold down?

The light, birch colored one, with the low-backed chairs with horizontal slats. It's difficult to find smaller, lightweight, low backed dining chairs here. There'll all so huge, sized for formal dining rooms, though no one lives that way anymore. Do you know what else I loved? Front-load small washing machines. I was so thrilled when I bought this small condo & it came with a Brit-style washer.

I think straight hair suits some curlies at different points in their lives. A 3B friend of mine just got tired of dealing with her curls in super-humid Florida when she was a busy young mother. She finallly had the gentle chemical softener done, so she can do a blow-out at home that lasts her 3 days. It just made her life easier. Now that her boys are older, she is returning to curly.

My curls tend to pull out when I'm pregnant. I can't hold a curly style at all, and I got so tired of having so many bad hair days, I just gave up. My hair blows out pretty easily. I blow dry it dry upside down, and then I flip up and randomly take a round brush to it to smooth it out. It takes me all of 10 minutes.

The only thing is, I wish it would stay this way. I'm going to be so irritated if I get used to it being like this through the pregnancy, and it goes back to curly after I have the baby.

Please excuse any typos. For the time being, we are blaming it on my computer.
CC- don't you have Ikea over there? Wondering if maybe you should come back beimg that you miss all the creature comforts
See I think I would prefer a top loader, no bending down, or fighting the washing when you've overloaded slightly and trying to shut the door without breaking your foot.

Anyway my poopy hair. It hasn't loosedened in pregnancy, but I'm bored of having to go though the whole procedure every other day in the evening and I can't go to bed with it damp because it will look awful so I have to blow dry it anyway. Blowdrying it curly can take 2 hours becuase it has to be dripping wet when I start.
With the blow-out it's still good this morning its lasted 4 days and will probably go till monday or tuesday.

The logic is simple but on the other hand I look so different with straight hair I can work out if I look nicer or worse

Ah, you've temporarily made me miss my hair straightener. While I hated spending the time to blowdry and straighten (although now I guess I spend equal amounts of time applying product, plopping, and diffusing), my straight hair required so much less fuss and lasted multiple days (as of now, I can't get second day curls at all). Granted, it's rainy season out here now, so it would immediately puff up and frizz upon walking outside if I were to wear it straight it again . . .

Anyways, enough about my hair. Your hair is gorgeous, and I'm not sure I have a preference - straight or curly. You just look different, but I think it suits you either way. Especially your November curly pictures - nice and shiny. I also love your color.

Gorgeous hair! I think your hair looks good both ways. I really love the color. I could never pull that off.

It's not about having what you want, it's about Wanting what you have
Thanks for the comments girls.
I'm thinking I'll keep it straight, and now I've found out how to get my hair curling nicely I'll just have it curly when I either get time or for special occasions.

Luckily I dont need to go near straightners and can manage to get straight with a blowdryer which means less damage.

The other thing I noticed is it is much easier to assess the condition of the hair when it's straight. My stylist only used two products which I then purchased and I think the good result has a lot to do with them. They must be why it's guarding itself so well aginst humidity.

As for the colour; my highlights are slowly dissapearing and the colour my stylist put on them matches my own perfectly considering she only covered the highlights you can see no difference between my regrowth which is about 6 inches and the ends.

Wow, I dream of having red hair.....but obviously natural redheads can't be matched. Your hair looks so silky and healthy, and so thick and full. Definitely looks gorgeous. I, too, have been doing the blow-out thing. Doesn't seem to take much longer than doing it curly, and everyone seems to like it better. I also feel more confident these days with it straight. Your hair is positively gorgeous, and the color looks fantastic as it should since nature made it that way. Do whatever makes you feel good about yourself. It looks beautiful either way.
Fine, blonde 3a botticelli curls
Thanks botticelli, I personally dont think you can beat your own natural colour, as it always matches everything ie. eyes, skin tone. Highlights are always a good idea.

I was at my daughters playgroup today and so far everyone has said they really like my new do, but couldn't decide which they prefered because it was so different. The playgroup leader said to me;

"I like your hair it looks really glamorous, but I prefer it curly, I think you're more of a CURLY GIRL! "

So now I feel like a bit of a traitor to my curls

Go straight & feel good about it! Honestly, if I could straighten my hair so easily, I would consider it more often. But my hair takes an hour of flat-ironing (only done once & in a very dry climate) and a boat load of cones to straighten. And people said the same to me: "Wow, it's so pretty, & so looong. But you don't look like you. I like it curly."

To futher our ongoing guano: There's IKEA in Seattle -- 800 miles south of here. I have ordered from them in the past. Things have to be put on a barge & floated up the Inside Passage of Alaska (quite lovely thru the glacier channels & islands) & pretty cheap too. Alas, my condo is so tiny I gave up a dining table, so my BF can set up his easel to paint.
