Tips on fixing this routine?
So, I'm trying super hard to grow my hair out for my wedding in June. I haven't used any heat on it since May and have been washing ever other day.
I use suaves natural cherry blossom conditioner to clean my scalp, then treseme naturals to condition and then, after putting in a bit of the suave for a leave in, use either LA looks gel (which im finidng is drying) or HE set me up.
Is there anything I can do to better this? I feel like my hair is still dry and slightly breaking =/

If you feel your hair is still dry, you could try using a deep conditioner. This will help moisturize your hair, just make sure there arent cones in it if you're cowashing. Hth

You could try leaving in a little more leave in, or using oil to seal between the leave in and the gel.

Experimenting with too many products to name here. All this great info keeps my head spinning.

-Use a deep conditioner at least once a week
-Consider using a moisturizing curl cream
-Consider a more moisturizing leave in

Do you know your hair properties (texture, porosity, etc)? If your hair is damaged from previous heat or straightening, you might need some protein to try to help salvage some of the more damaged hair. Because your hair is also dry, definitely still incorporate lots of moisture. But breakage can come from multiple causes and if it's due to damaged hair, all the moisture in the world won't really fix it without some protein.

Neither of the conditioners you're using seem especially rich (I've used both for cowashes). Maybe try something a little heavier?

Have you tried anything other then gel for styling. Some of us find gel very drying. (including myself) If what the above comments suggest don't work I would try a different styler.

I just can't put Suave in my hair...and the tressemme is only going in my daughters. I need richer more quality ingredients. Try deeper conditioners.

All excellent suggestions. Have you considered using a curl creme like Curl Junkie Coffee Cocoa Curl Creme Iite under a gel so that you can use less gel? The CCCL is moisturizing.
I especially suggest a protein treatment followed by deep conditioning. (Corinna's suggestion).
Best of luck with this and congrats on the upcoming wedding!
