Low Poo & Conditioner for baby fine hair? Please help!

My hair is very fine (but a lot of it), very soft and healthy, and easily weighed down. I'm having a hard time with repeatedly getting over conditioned. I had great volume before CG, but now my hair feels flat, thin, limp. My curls used to be fat and bouncy, but now they feel unsubstantial - very fragile and stringy. I'm losing root curl and volume, which has never been a problem for me before.

I've tried a couple of different PTs, but my hair has reacted badly (straw like and loss of curl) to them. Protein in products seems to be ok though. I low poo every 2 days and wet and restyle (no additional product) in between. I have tried a huge variety of cleansing, conditioning, and styling products and haven't truly been excited by any combination I've tried, so I thought I'd appeal to those who have similar hair properties to tell me what they're using, PLEASE! The only time recently my hair looked like my old hair was when I decided I needed a fresh start and used my old sulfate shampoo, which I don't want to have to do if I don't have to.

TIA

Just realized, too, that the worst mess has followed shampoos and conditioners that are "natural," like soap/shampoo bars, KCComeClean, and most recently Yes to Carrots. All left my hair feeling coated, tangly, with huge loss of curl. Could it be the oils?

I've heard the Come Clean is really stripping and harsh despite being a low poo. If you like sulfate shampoos and protein, you could try CHS shampoo or Redken Fresh Curls (this one has less protein).

What about using a Suave Naturals, VO5 or Tresemme Naturals for your conditioner? They are all pretty light. I think the TN is the most moisturizing.
Coarse texture, normal-high porosity, normal elasticity (Komaza Care), very weak waves
cleanser: Redken Fresh Curls Shampoo, CJ Daily Fix

rinse out: GVP Conditioning Balm, CJ Repair Me, CJ Smoothing

jellies/creams: CR Curl Maker, KCCC, UFD Curly Magic
gels: CJ CQ, BRHG

Thanks, asianrunner. I've tried SN Coconut Conditioner and TN Radiant Volume, but neither seem moisturizing enough, strangely. I just can't seem to strike a good middle ground. Perhaps a very light leave in?

I have fine hair, though not baby fine. I really like kckt for a leave in, but I don't truly leave all of it in. I sort of do a modified super soaker type thing with it. I get worried about things weighing my hair down. I detangle with the kckt and fill my hands with water and scrunch the water in. I don't get weighed down this way but I do get good slip, which I like. Good luck!
Thanks, sarstang! I have some KCKT, but I've not tried it that way. Great idea!

Do either or you, or anyone, have any ideas regarding low poos? I think the ones i've tried ave been just as much of the problem as the conditioners. Has anyone tried Yes to Tomatoes Volumizing Shampoo?

I'll share my own experiences since I've tried a lot!

Giovanni TTTT: sort of harsh, stripping
Abba (can't remember which one): made my hair feel greasy
Mop C: got my scalp clean but a little stripping
Jessicurl: love it! not stripping

The Abba and Mop C made my scalp itch but I have a flaky, dry scalp that is easily irritated.

What about Shea Moisture? Their low poos have protein and I've heard good things about them.

I *think* that suave naturals everlasting sunshine is protein free.

Maybe the loreal cleansing condish? I haven't tried it yet, but I did buy it the other day when I was busy enabling myself.

But as far as a true low poo, I've only tried deva and I'm not a huge fan. I tend to get tangly from it.

I've been using sn coconut or everlasting sunshine to co wash and I like them well enough. If I feel like I've oc'ed I just do a pt. I'm sure that's not the best method of coping with this. Lol..
I also have fine hair with the porosity on the low side. I love Shea Moisture shampoos. I was afraid at first that they would be too rich for my hair but they've been great. I also like the Jessicurl but SM is available locally and easier on the wallet.

To address some of your other concerns: The only PT I've used with success is IAGirl's recipe. I love Tresemme Naturals conditioner - moisture, great slip and doesn't weigh me down. When it comes to leave-ins and stylers, I need to constantly remind myself that (for me anyway) less is more. If I use a leave-in, I can only use a tiny amount. If I use a curl cream or gel, I have to use enough without crossing the line. Fine hair gets weighed down easily and products often sit on low porosity hair without soaking in or penetrating the hair. Tricky combination. There are plenty of curlies here who layer several products with great success. I'm not one of them.

Thank you, everyone, for some great ideas! I have tried SM MR, which I thought made my hair too soft and flat. I'll pull it out again! Is the SM Coconut and Hibiscus lighter? I haven't tried Jessicurl products at all yet!

I haven't noticed much difference between the SM shampoos. They are both very moisturizing and can be very rich. The keys for me is to rinse thoroughly, use only a light conditioner afterward (again the Tresemme Naturals is great for this) and use a very light hand on the stylers.

Thanks, mhen76. I'll try it with the TN Radiant Volume to see if that combo will work
