Hi - new here, a question!

Hello all - I'm loving this site & forum. I've decided to stop torturing my hair all the time, and nurish and encourage the curls. I'm learning so much already!

Question: My hair is fairly thick and coarse. Almost wiry, very porous. I'm a 3a all around my face - lovely curly ringlets. maybe a frizzy poufy 2b in the back, and the lower layers (nape of neck) are almost straight! I'm investigating the products and methods that will restore my hair.

Is there a possibility that once I'm sorted out, the straight underlayer will begin to curl, and the 2b in the back will stop being so frizzy/wavy and curl as well?
Your hair sounds identical to mine, I have really nice curls at the fornt which are looser at the crown and can be wiry. The hair at the nape of my neck is poker straight. I also have frizzy bits at the front.

After following cg for some time I gave it up because it really didn't work for me, I did eventually find a good rountine for my curls
Washing with Joico Kpak shampoo
Conditioning and combing through with Joico Kpak conditioning which I dont rinse out.
Then flipping my head upside down and scrunching in lots of mouse, continuing to scrunch with a cottontowel to dry.
To sometimes speed up drying using the blowdryer with the concentrator nozzle and drying in direction of hair growth very slowly.
Leaving in the conditioner is the biggest thing to stop my hair looking and feeling coarse. You may need to "scrunch out the crunch" a bit too.

Hope this is helpful

It helps me to apply gel to the canopy (top layer) of my hair, then lift it up and apply gel to the under layer as well. It seems to give my hair better definition.

It's possible to get your less curly parts to be as curly as genetically possible. The back of my hair and top are curlier than they used to be. They're not super tight curls still but then none of my hair is. They're definitely better for the conditioning and pampering
2c/3a?
Low porosity, medium texture.

If it smells good put it in your hair, if it tastes good spit it out!
