Default Ammonium?

Are Ammonium Lauryl and Laureth Sulfates less drying or damaging than Sodium Lauryl and Laureth Sulfates? I used a shampoo containing these instead of sodium (It's called Suave Healthy Curls) and all of the lather rinsed out easily and my hair felt much smoother and more moisturized than it normally does after shampooing.
