Advice needed: am I warm, cool, or neutral?

I know it's sort of hard to tell from photographs, but what skin tone do you think I am? I have lots of pics in my Fotki, probably too many.

I can never figure out what color to color my hair. Should I go with an ash, a neutral, a golden, or a red. If I go with red, should I get blue-based or orange based? How do I figure which reds are blue-based or orange?

I'm almost 1/2 way done with my self-imposed color hiatus. So many colors, so little time! Help! What color would look best on me?????

I would say to stick with the warm family. Something too cool would probably drain the color from your face and make you look tired, but that is just my opinion. I'd also say not to go extremely light. Your base color seems to suit you nicely.

yeah, I don't think I want to go blonde or anything. I'm thinking sticking within the light to medium brown/red shades. Still, though, there's so much to pick from.

I think with your blue eyes and and fair skin that you're probably cool toned. My guess is that your natural hair color is a darker brown. I think if you want to stick with red, go for a more auburn shade rather than an orangey-red.

I agree. Your coloring seems similar to mine, and I know a golden or orangey color would wash me out terribly. Maybe you should stick with neutral if you're still confused.

I think reddy brown would bring out your colors nicely. I don't get enough sun to pull of blonde, it washes out my color so I'm not a good judge on the who should go blonde thing. I love reddy brown though with blue eyes, brings out the color in the skin and cheeks and is so striking with light eyes.

I'm gonna say 'neutral', although I noticed that the pics I thought you looked the very best in, were the ones where you were wearing brighter colors, like the red, pea-green, and orange. I just thought they added a nice color to your face, if that makes sense.

I would definitely avoid anything 'too' warm or cold, but if you're thinking of going red, go for a true red, not an orangey red or a burgundy red. Just my thoughts though.

Slight guano: are there cool reds in terms of natural-looking hair colors? In Color Me Beautiful it was made quite clear there weren't, but it would be nice for it to be wrong this once.

My guess would lean toward "no". Warm red hair colors have a gold undertone, cool reds would have to have a blue undertone. Most people with natural red hair have more gold undertones. Auburn is probably the closest to a cooler red, since it would have less gold than a true bright red.

There are definitely warm (yellow based) and cool (blue based) shades of red when you're talking about say, lipstick, for example, but with hair color it gets a bit trickier.

Haha I remember that..Color me beautiful..My opinion is a little contrary to what others think. I think a bright eggplant/burgundy/wine color would look beautiful - your eyes would really pop. I also think you would look lovely in a medium-dark chocolate brown. I would prefer neutral or warm colors over any ash colors. I think of ash as different from cool colors.. the eggplant/burgundy/wine shades might be cooler, but they are not ash... I think ash washes more peoples (at least those that I know) skin tone and makes them look grayer, in essence, (no one kill me, please?) older..Just my opinion

I think you are a warm color. I have blue eyes, light complexion, and med/dark brown hair. I always thought I was a "winter" or cool color. Then I had a hairstyle/coloring evaluation done last year and I couldn't believe it, they told me I was a "golden" or warm color! But now I can see it. I look better in yellow/golden/warm versions of colors like green, brown, and some blues. Just look how nice you look in the color green!

So I say go for a reddish brown color, like a medium/dark auburn brown.

what do you suppose is the difference btw med reddish brown & auburn brown? I've emailed Revlon, but no response yet.

Greencurls, where did you have your hairstyle/coloring evaluation done? I'd really like to have someone talented take a look at me. Not that I don't appreciate you guys, but it's hard to tell coloring from photographs.

I love the color of the girls hair in the curlisto commercial that flashes around on the left. The girl with the wavy, copper hair & green eyes. You can only see 1/2 of her face.

Does your skin look better in yellow gold or white gold/silver?

One of them makes the skin look nice and the other makes the skin look grey, red or just brings out scars and stuff more than the other.

So depending on what you come up with with that...well if you look good in yello gold you are warm and if the silver looks better on you you are cold.

Cold looks good in cold colors and warm looks good in warm colors.

I am pretty neautral myself but my skin looks much better in yellow gold, and warm colors so I am mainly "warm".
I just looked into that stuff a while back.
