Default What style for a 60+ lady?

My 2b hair is currently chin length in the front and below my neck in the back with overgrown layers (I need a haircut). However, the top (bangs area, but I don't do bangs) is down to my nose. The front non-bangs area drives me nuts, so I usually wear my glasses on my head to keep my hair back. Wondering if I should let that grow or make it shorter. The root area of my hair is not very curly, but I think that might be due to needing a good cut and lack of product help. What's a good style for me (I'm 60+)?

I think your hair sounds darling, but if you are ready for a change - just do it. I'm 56 and look at my hair. I definitely don't fit anyone's idea of "style." But I like it so I'm happy!

Go longer or shorter. What is your desire?

Not sure....I'm feeling a bit mushroomy. I think I might need the back lifted a bit. My biggest prob area is the front/top...hate it hanging in my face (thus, the glasses on top of my head holding it back every day). I think I'll hold off on the cut until I really get back to a CG routine. I fell off the wagon for a while.

I have the same problem with it hanging in my face. My hair was made to have bangs but they don't suit me.

I wait until its about 50% dry and put a pin curl/alligator clip (or whatever they're called) in the heavy part, about 1.5" from the root. Then, when it's dry, I take out the clip and put in a bit of hairspray, then re clip to how I would like it to hang. Leave a few minutes, fluff it a bit and it should stay out of your face.

Also, if you put that heavy bit to the other side of your ahead (against your parting) then you should get nice volume when you flip it back the other way and it should stay in place.

Hope that makes sense.

Hello, I am 60, and I have been growing my hair since 2002 when I got divorced (most women cut; I grew mine). I had very short layers on top, as a result of going to a stylist for years who did not really know or understand the great curl potential of my hair! So now, I am growing out those short layers; the shortest now is about chin length, and the back is quite long. My pic there is deceptive, as it was my early attempt to do Deva styllng with Deva products, and looks a lot shorter than it is. In the future, I will post a better one. I decided a long time ago that long curls on a "mature" woman were unique and youthful. Try to find a good curly stylist! where do you live, there is a salon finder on the site here...
