crimp frizz and protein sensitive, help?

I tried searching for posts on crimp frizz because that's probably the worst frizz I deal with in my hair and it's all over my hair. Problem is I see a lot of the solutions suggested involve protein. I have to stay away from protein because my hair freaks out and drys up....so what else can I do? I've already had a good trim to cut all the dead hair off and i've been doing CG for a month now. Lately my waves have been more definied than usual, but all this crimp frizz is getting to me. I pretty much frizz as soon as I get out of the shower, even with sopping wet hair. :( Oh, also I live in a place where it's hot and dry outside but somehow the dew points are always 65+ (Central Texas, frizz capital of the world quite possibly lol).
