hello all! i need help. im attaching pics of my hair at various stages and i would appreciate it if you ladies and gents could give a little input. thanks!
the first is when i was 18 or 19. i was not CG at all. i had finger curls big sections together and let it dry and then shook it out. i was in a very humid climate
the 2nd is when i started to slowly chop away at my hair. stupid me. again not CG and same products as before. and same climate
the 3rd is after i chopped it off. still finger curls. same products. switching between a mousse and cream depending on weather and same climate. not CG
the 4th is my shortest length. i finger curled and used a mousse. it would barely hold curls in some places.
the last is my most current. over a years worth of growth. attempting CG. different, dryer climate. this was a good-ish day. my hair is just so limp and flyaway. this is with a curl serum that has wheat protein in it.
i'm at a loss. i never have consistent results with anything and i can't determine what my hair likes or dislikes or anything!
So much of what works for our hair depends on our hair properties. You don't mention what yours are. Do you know them? It would be really helpful. Here are some links that can help you: Live Curly Live Free - Home Curly Hair Tips, Styles & Products - NaturallyCurly
My hair is very fine and responds well to frequent protein treatments and products that are rich in protein. Coarse hair often rebels against proteins. Finding a routine can be frustrating and overwhelming. Hang in there and keep reading as much as possible - it will come together!
3B, fine, normal to low porosity
Modified CG since June 2010
HGs: FSG, anything with glycerin, Tresemme Naturals conditioner, Curls Like Us cloths, satin pillowcases.
my hair is 3A with fine/medium tendencies. I am leaning towards porous due to the fact that it dries in under 3 hours without diffusing. i have never colored it so it doesnt seem damaged or anything. it gets weighed down easily and cant really take LIs.
I'm just a trial and error type of person when it comes to hair, so I can't really make any suggestions, but I like the 3rd photo. =] I do recommend sticking to products that are good for the hair & not damaging.
