I saw at Walmart that the Yes to Cucumbers conditioner is in a different bottle with the word New! written across it. Does anyone know if it's only the packaging that has changed, or if the product itself has actually been reformulated?

No, but I did notice that there are several new additions to the Yes to Carrots line. The old Nourishing poo and Pampering condish are still there, but now there's also a Scalp Relief formula.

The bottle now has a flip-top, which might be easier to open in the shower than the old pop-up.

So annoying! Why does this always happen to me? I bought my first bottle of YTC CO a few weeks ago, and my hair loves it. I've been looking for more, and all I'm finding is the new (and smaller and more expensive) bottle. I still see the old formula online, so I may order a few bottles. The new one may be just as good, but it's no longer such a good value, IMO. The ingredients have changed, but there's nothing in the new one that sounds bad to me:

OLD Formula:

There's nothing in the new formulation that sounds bad, but if you notice, they took out several ingredients that were GOOD. I just bought the new one, and I did an ingredient comparison tonight, and am not happy to see the changes. I'm seriously thinking of taking it back.
I agree with you, it's not at all a good value any longer: the size is several ounces smaller, and it costs (here at my Target, anyway) only a dollar less. So where I used to pay $8.99 for roughly 14oz, I now pay $7.99 for 10oz. That terrible value. Especially when they leave out the best ingredients: the moisturizers.
Take a closer look: the oils are gone. The old formula had olive oil, jojoba oil, and gree tea extract. Olive and jojoba are rich and moisturizing and helped give it its slip.
The new formulation substitutes apricot oil for the other two: a lighter oil that has conditioning properties, but is not particularly moisturizing. It's a nice oil - I add it to my FSG because it's a nice light oil, but IMO it's too light to be the only oil in a conditioner.
They also added "fillers" to take the place of the great ingredients they took out - see the glycerin there toward the bottom? That's new, and it's totally unnecessary... except as a filler. That's sneaky, and I don't like a company that does that.

I am going to try out the new formula of YTCucs, but I have a bad feeling about it, like another old favorite bit the dust

Good thing I saved my reciept. I have a feeling I'll be looking for another HG condish after all.

I bought it and I'm taking it back. I tried it once and I hate it. Nowhere near as good as the old formula. Not as moisturizing, not as much slip. I used the old one as a leave in too and now I have to find a replacement

Interesting observation about the oils. Having just discovered this conditioner over the summer, I'm incredibly disappointed about the reformulation. It seems every time I find something amazing, it gets changed

I'm halfway thru my last bottle of the old Yes to Cuc's. Once that runs out, I'm considering trying Tresemme Naturals Moisture conditioner. Anyone know how it compares to the original Yes to Cuc's?

Disappointed to hear about the slip (or lack of) in the new reformulation, but not surprised. I had a feeling that might be the case when I compared the ingredient lists last night. I feel like the company tried to pull a fast one on it's customers. Really makes me mad.

I don't like Tresemme's conditioners in general. They don't work for my hair - not moisturizing enough, no slip, etc. I can't use them for a leave in, either.I think it would depend on your hair type.Alot of people like and use Tresemme's condishs with no problems. I can't though.

I had 4 conditioners that worked well for me: lots of slip, moisturizing, and weren't oily, so I could use them as LI's if I wanted. Yes to Cucs, Sally's GVP, DM Detangler, and Sonoma Soap Company. The Sally's I couldn't use as a LI, but the other 3 I could. Now I have to knock off YTCucs, and Sonoma Soap Company is really hard to find because my local health food store stopped carrying it.

So I'm down to just Sally's that I can buy locally - bummer.

I think TN is ok for a cheap conditioner. Much better than Suave Naturals and VO5 to me. That said, it's not super moisturizing but is good when I didn't need much moisture.
