hi guys, i'm new to the website, i have a "problem" with my hair. so my hair is 3b for the most part but the top part is more like wavy not curly, its not damage just the way it always have been. So I want it get it cut in very short layers like first one above my ear.... is that gonna be to short, i dont care about not able to put it up. im kinda scare to cut it that short but when its long the i look like a have triangle hair. im hoping if i get it cut it will be a better shape. thanks please give me ur opinions.

I say, do whatever makes you happy. I figure: it's hair. It grows back. Shorter cuts require more frequent visits to the salon, though. So, to maintenance will, in essence, cost more. (if cost is an issue at all for you - it is for me. ) You just have to figure out if it's really what you want or not.

As a side note, let me say that I ALWAYS had a crown that didn't curl as much as the rest of my hair.... that is, until I had been CG for a while. Once I got on the CG bandwagon, fully, the top that never really curled much before started curling. That could happen to you, too. ...Just sayin'. Good luck!

Look at this post from me from 2011: Wow. 5 months CG... what a difference!

And, look at the root curl I have now (actually, this was this past spring):


My hair used to come out straight from the roots and curl at the ends. Now, I get curl from root to tip. It takes time, though. A cut might work well!

I used to have really bad triangle head until i got layers. I have to be able to out my hair up tho so i cant have that short of a layer but if you dont have to worry about putting ur hair up i say go for it. It will always grow out if its to short. Never hurts to try right?!?!

how short is your hair?! that makes a big difference! if you have mid-back length and ear-length layers, that might not be the greatest idea. can you post a picture of your hair now?
