Cleansing Conditioners?
Hey Curlies, I wanted to know if anyone has used a cleansing conditioner and their experience with it.

I have used CJ daily fix, DC no-poo and L'Oreal Evercreme. I love cleansing conditioners; they do the job of cleansing while also lightly moisturizing. It's easy for me to over-condition (I have fine hair) when I co-wash using regular conditioner, but this doesn't happen with the cleansing conditioner. I also don't worry about product buildup or the accidental cone, as these have cleansing ingredients that will remove them. My favorite is the CJ daily fix, but the others are good too.

I've heard a lot of good things about the CJ daily fix. I have 3c color treated hair so I want something that will get my hair clean but not strip it.

For some reason, I've never really liked them. I've tried CJ, devacurl, evercreme, and wen. I like co-washing, and I like low-pooing, but cleansing conditioners are the opposite of a happy medium for me. They don't cleanse as well as low-poos but don't moisturize as well as co-washing. I just prefer alternating between low-pooing and co-washing.

hmmm. for ME a cowash with suave naturals isn't nearly as moisturizing as a cleansing conditioner.cleansing condtioners,at least the ones i've tried, all have lots of oils in them that can cause me problems.i like them for the first few days and then my hair is weighed down and greasy after that.

I've been co-washing and it keeps my hair fairly moisturized. I'm just not sure how great of a job its doing with cleaning.

Thats interesting. So do you alternate between the two? But i wondered how good they would be at cleaning rather than conditioning. I've been using tresemme naturals for my co-washing. but I wonder if i should alternating between that and a low-poo or cleansing conditioner, just to make sure my hair is clean.

i use cj daily fix most days, cj gentle cleansing shampoo (low poo) about once every 4 days.
you need to scrub your scalp whatever you use to clean, that is where the dirt/sebum/etc. is building up. if you feel you have some product buildup, then also GENTLY massage your hair.
everyone's hair is different so you have to find what makes your hair happy. trial and error.

Thanx! Im new to embracing my natural hair so finding the right products and routine has been hard. I think i may give the CJ products a try. Would you happen to know a good deep conditioner also? Low in protein and no silicones maybe?

i use curl junkie deep conditioners -- deep fix is great! and so is curl rehab. i believe curl rehab does not have any protein.

It isn't the greatest at cleaning in my opinion, which is why I alternate with low-poo.
