Taking pictures of your own hair

Hi there -
I've been looking at everyone's beautiful pics and wondering how people manage to get clear, centered pictures of the back of their heads. I've tried variations with mirrors and blind shots , but I keep getting weird angles, etc.

Any tips?
2c, 3a, something like that... Curl-curious?
Someone said they put there camera on a shelf behind and have it set on a timer. I think a lot of people have someone else take a picture tbh!
Coarse texture, normal-high porosity, normal elasticity (Komaza Care), very weak waves
cleanser: Redken Fresh Curls Shampoo, CJ Daily Fix

rinse out: CJ Beauticurls, CJ A&OO, CJ Smoothing

jellies/creams: Mop C, KCCC, SCE FSG
gels: CJ CQ, BRHG

Oh the timer is a good idea. I get ok shots by putting my phone up right above my shoulder and close to my head. Just have to smooth down the hair so it's not in the way. I have long wavy hair so that might not work for someone with shorter, really curly hair. But, yes, my best shots come from having someone else take it for me. The kids think I'm nuts...especially when I have them measure, too (I'm growing it out). *grins*
remember, with all advice or suggestions for your hair, YMMV!!
My hair:
2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
My routine:
Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
LI: KCKT or CJSL
Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)

Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.
yep i do the timer thing. i get myself ready first, my hair n the position then i put it on 10 seconds. or if my man's there then i get him to take a pic of it, though i prefer the timer cause he tends to take more then just a one or two

my hair: 3c, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.

I also blog about my hair journey, please feel free to read and comment/ask questions http://www.naturallycurly.com/blogs/...air-blogs/2494
