Default Major frizz - Need new styler

Having severe frizz issues here in South Florida. I need strong hold but gels are drying. Currently using BRHG with leave in cond. Looking for a non-gel styler with a lot of hold and:
No cones
No glycerin
No protein
No humectants ( incl. aloe)
No polyquats

My hair hates all of these things. What's left? Any suggestions? I obviously need help.

Have you ever tried making your own flax seed gel? There are several recipes on these boards. It's quick and very easy to make - cheap, too! I add most of the things you said your hair hates. That's one of the many benefits of FSG - you can add or not add anything you want. I add protein, glycerin and honey. Epsom salts are good for curl enhancement. Use the basic recipe and add anything you want.

I had frizz issues here, and let me say that Wisconsin's summer this past year was hotter than Florida. My combo is: SM shampoos, Cure Care conditioner or Giovanni deep conditioner (silk); I use a pea size amount of Bioterra on the sides and top/back of my hair; and over that, I use Deva Frizz Free Styling Foam. Worked really well.

I am curious to hear what everyone says. I also live in S. Fla and my frizz is no joke! Just like you, I currently use leave in with a gel but would love to be able to use a cream type styler in lieu of the gel all the time. Hope you (and therefore me ) get some great tips!

I don't live in a humid climate but I do suffer frizz, it's my major bugbear - I use CIAB with mousse.

Ooh, my hair hates most of those things, too, and living in TN I also experience hardcore humidity-related frizz.

I am currently playing with flaxseed gel - my hair hates sorbitol, but I'm not sure it hates all humectants, so I'm going to be adding aloe just to see. However, the plain old FSG has been working pretty well - I'm really just tweaking to see if I can improve on it - I use KCKT as my leave-in, but like you, my hair tends to prefer creams over gels, so I'm considering mixing up some of my RO with the FSG to see if that works better - I've done it when my hair is dry and it just eats it up - improves the frizz a touch, but not all of it...

Hair hates: non-keratin protein, glycerin, sorbitol, agave, sulfates, polyquats, co-washing (flaky scalp), maybe aloe?
Hair loves: fewer/more natural ingredients, moisture

Scalp wash: Selsun Blue naturals or reg when desperate
Low poo: Giovanni TTTT
RO: SN - Strawberry, ES
LI: SNES
Style: HETT mousse, FSG if I make it, ??

FSG worked well for me, but I gave up on it because I travel a lot. I wasn't able to figure out how to properly preserve the homemade FSG without refrigeration. I guess I could go back to that option and do more research on additives.

Thanks for the responses.

I think a lot of people use Epsom salt as a preservative. I also travel quite often and had the same FSG dilemma... On my last trip I just took HETT instead, but maybe a batch of FSG with Epsom just for travel would be good (I think if I used it all the time it would dry me out...).
