Default Poll- Do you let your S.O. touch your hair?

DH can't really get why hands are off limits in my hair. He wants to run his fingers through it, and I'm like, "But they'll get stuck and tangled and then we're REALLY in trouble!"

SO - do you let yours play with your hair or is it stictly off limits to all but your stylist?

When I had a SO, he knew not to touch my hair unless we weren't going anywhere the rest of the evening.

Usually, if a guy starts wanting to play with my hair, we won't be going anywhere and it's about to get more messed up anyway.....

I would mind if my hair were to the point where a guy couldn't play with it. Touchable is an absolute necessity, higher priority than appearance for me.

Ha. He can go at it all he wants...but he's been warned that he's going to have a bit of an issue untangling himself afterwards. One time, he tested the mangle factor while I was sleeping, and I awakened to him wriggling his fingers and looking at his hand as if it had been swallowed by the Hair Blob.

A quarter bottle of conditioner later, he said that he then believed me. Now, he just pets my head rather apprehensively whenever he gets the urge to run his fingers through my hair.

This is not really an issue with a curly SO. Who uses gel and lets his hair airdry crunchy and then scrunches - HIS way, not my way.

If I'm getting ready to go out and he reaches for my hair I duck. Otherwise, he can play with it all he wants because who cares? And if I need to go somewhere suddenly and my hair looks bad, I'll wear a scarf or a hat.

I generally don't let my boyfriend touch my hair. The mainnthing he doesn't understand is that he isn't allowed to come anywhere near my hair when its wet. When its dry i don't mind him touching it if we're not going anywhere. But if we end up going somewhere i have to tie it up. I think he just finds the whole thing quite funny!

These are the exact rules at our house. NEVER touch it while it's wet, also NOT if we're going out - if we're just staying in, sure - but don't make fun of me after you've messed it all up.

Maybe it's just the way my hair is but it seems to look pretty much the same no watter how many times people pulls , prod , pat , or mess around with it.
I don't have an S.O but a few of my friends often play around with my hair and it doesn't really bother me unless they're really rough with it , because it hurts. But it doesn't really seem to look very different afterwards.

Maybe I'm just scarred from college when my friends used to love to play "How big can we make Jess's hair?" It was always quite a sight after THAT little party game.

I'm with you ravenqt. I love to have my hair played with. Needless to say...I'm a ball of frizz later but a ponytail fixes that.

Thankfully, I don't have an SO now since my hair is all hard and damaged and just plain ugly. Bleach will never again touch my hair.

Normally, I love to have a guy run his fingers through my hair. I try to use as little product as possible. I actually do finger tests on it on my own. Guys are the reason I avoid gel when my hair is healthy. I love soft touchable hair and I hate that gelled up crunchy look.

Granted, my hair is not all that curly and once it is dry it isn't very tangled, so it is not that hard to get back in shape if it is looking good. If it is looking bad, it can't look worse so it is not an issue.

Outside the state of Florida, my hair is not capable of big. Thank heavens!

I've only dated two guys that openly admired my hair Even then, touching was not so much an issue, I think men are somewhat intimidated by my hair. My current SO is not into touching in general I'm with the other(s) that said touch-ability is a big priority, maybe one day I'll get a man that takes advantage of all the hard work I do to make my mane soft and touchable. That said, moderate touching is okay with me IF my hair is COMPLETELY dry. When wet, hands off!

My husband LOVES playing with my hair. Not touching it or running hands through it, but playing with it. he takes a curl, stretches it and watches it bounce back. he sticks it in my ears. he laughs when the front top (which is VERY frizzy) sticks straight up in the air. he positions the front in different vertical positions and laughs when it doesnt move. (this happens best when it's dry and there's no product in it.) he just likes playing with the curls. Especially watching them bounce after he lets them go! He really likes when my hair is in a braid and he can stick the end of it in my ear. (he's just a big child!!)

So, I dont let him play with them when they're wet. IF he did, the gel would lose hold and ruin the curl. I'd end up with all frizz!!
Most of the time, though, he can play with them. I dont mind, even if we're going somewhere. It only happens once every few years that we're going somewhere important enough for me to veto playing with my hair!!

By the way, I have a bonnet that attaches to my hair drier for deep conditioning. He loves it because it looks so funny!!! (it scares the cat, though! )

Yep, did that today with Fekkai's Shea Butter Mask on and my boyfriend cracked up laughing so much he had to put down the phone. He did raise his thumb while doing this, he thought it was cool.
