This is my hair, lol. This is end of the day second day hair.

I'm actually quite happy with my hair. However, I've been worried about using too much protein. Yes my hair is drier than yesterday and I have frizz but that seems normal for me on a second day hair.

What do you all think? For protein sensitive curlies, does BRHG bother you?

Also, any recs for protein free and glycerin free HARD hold gel?

Not sure but thats the same kind of frizz I constantly have. I also have hair that doesn't need protein as it already has enough, maybe more than enough. I hope you get an answer!

I am not sure if I should completely get rid of protein because a lot of the products I use and like have it. Maybe I could use it less often but my hair seems to dislike glycerin unless the weather is PERFECT which is rare.

I know a lot of low porosity curlies usually do not like protein but I also know it varies.

My protein frizz feels brittle, even when wet. My non protein frizz ( say from manipulation or lack of moisture) is mainly undefined and whispy but very localized to an area that I can pinpoint with some sort of disturbance to the curl. Hope this helps:)

How does your hair feel about sorbitol? There is a brand I found at Target called LaBella that is supposed to be hard hold, but in comparing that and Herbal Essences Totally Twisted - which is essentially the same thing but without sorbitol - I learned that my hair TOTALLY FREAKS OUT when exposed to sorbitol, so I have no idea what the hold might be. It is, however, both protein and glycerin free. HETT is probably not a "hard hold", if that's what you're looking for.

I would offer to send you the LaBella bottle, but the shipping would probably cost more than a new one, ha.

I definitely have some frizz that is brittle but not when wet, I just have certain pieces of hair that are super coarse.

I am not sure about sorbitol to be honest. But I've tried one version of LaBella. It was not hard enough a hold. Was it the Lots of Curls one?

Oh okay, I am going to go look at threads on it and see the ingredients. Thank you! :)
