Conditioner only method for winter

I've been using tresemme naturals for my leave in for a week or so now, and it was great..but now the weather is changing and really getting cold, and i feel my ends are getting dry and i see a lot of frizz compared to when i first started this and my hair was amazing. I baggy/deep condition 2/3 times a week...one of those times being more protein based. Idk, what do i need to change?

I had a similar problem related to colder, dryer weather. It was suggested that I increase the amount of leave-in I use. I did, and it worked like a charm. Worth trying for you, too, maybe.

Maybe mix in an oil and decrease protein?

all of the above -- more leave in, a heavier leave in, decrease protein, and maybe add a sealer when dews really go down -- either emollient butters or oil.

I had the same problem. I simply switched conditioners to Garnier Fructis Pure Clean cause I find it works better for me in the cold. It's easier for me than adding olive oil to my products but you can try that. Or seal with an oil after your leave in.

I agree with everyone else, more leave in and a heavier one. Suave is very light, which is why it's a good co-wash, but I'd use a richer conditioner to leave in.

So should i stop using my protein treatment once a week? Maybe to once a month? And should i use a heavier one such as GVPCB?

I leave in half of my RO (GVPCB!), and use more LI (add more GVPCB, and/or SMR cond.). I seal year round, but in the winter I add more oil. I might mix a little LI with my gel, and I do mix some more oil with my BRHG that I add over the top of my style before plopping.

As for protein - I don't cut back, but maybe feel it out. If your hair is feeling dry, maybe skip it that week. Be sure you follow PT's up with DT's, too.

Oh! I find cutting back on glycerin a little (in my stylers, mainly) can help.

Thanks! I tried using gvp instead...didn't really work. So I'm back to tresemme naturals for tonight, and i added a little olive oil to it, and I'm waiting for results. I really wanna stick to conditioner only, maybe some oils or honey, no gels or mousses or anything.
