Hi curlies! Haven't posted in a while but it's good to be back I've got a question for ya!

I'm interested in trying hair wrapping, because it'd be cool to have heat-free straight hair sometimes. But hair wrapping involves some brushing, which can be damaging, so here's my question. What is the gentlest brush that is also fairly inexpensive?

Hey Steph! For those times I need a brush, I like my Conair Performers with boar bristles. I got the flat one with the wider brush surface, not the round version or the narrow. I do need to section my hair in the crown area for best results, since it doesn't go through all my hair to the scalp otherwise, but I don't have issues with damage when I use it. I do use common sense with it, not being rough or ripping through tangles, and when I clean it out I find shed hairs, not broken ones. I still detangle most of the time with a wide tooth comb and/or fingers on wet hair in the shower, but I don't feel bad about pulling this brush out for occasional use.

And GC, thanks for the recommendation! I'm glad to hear it's non-damaging; I would only be using it maybe once a month or two when I want to try out straight hair, haha. Where did you get it, and do you remember how much it was?
