AVEDA scalp benefits, know it?

I am trying the scalp benefits shampoo because of my itchy, irritated scalp, and it seems to be a lowpoo with water soluble cones. Now the conditioner is supposed to go with it and even be applied on the scalp, BUT. . . . it has 1 cone. Darn that one cone. Two thoughts and hope someone could give me their opinion. But they really insist that to reap the benefits, you have to use the two together.
1) Just use it since the shampoo is lowpoo, it will get rid of that cone every time I use it, BUT since I only shampoo my scalp, with the little bit that runs down to the ends be ENOUGH to get the cones out of my length? Or would I have to shampoo the length once in a while?
2) Just try the shampoo with my other conditioners or one of theirs (if I can't return) without cones just to keep things moisturized, and hope my scalp reaps the benefits just from the poo?
Hoping for some opinions or experiences if you've used it. The good thing is that it is a lowpoo!
