Favorite oils?
I've been sealing with a few drops of apricot kernel oil and like it a lot! Do you have any favorites? Apricot is good...but is there any oil that is great and has had a huge impact on your hair?
Thanks!

Camellia oil, olive oil, and my new love , Argan oil....I bought it here. I will definitely repurchase. It's also fantastic on my face. It's not "greasy". It soaks in really well and doesn't take much. I use 4 pumps (drops) for my tailbone length hair and my hair LOVES it!

My new favorite is coconut oil, and my fall-back next favorite is olive oil, followed by Vitamin E oil.

I second the coconut oil! It's the only oil I've tried so far my low porosity hair actually absorbs, and my hair doesn't get weighed down if I only use a couple drops (very fine hair). My hair is so much better moisturized since I started sealing with this oil and using it occaisionally on dry hair as an overnight prepoo.

Argan oil is great, for the whole body as well as for hair. Another favourite is fig oil (Barbary Fig). Has similar qualities as argan, but feels slightly "thicker" on hair. These are the two oils I find hard to live without. Highly recommendable!

my hair LOVES coconut oil! i use it as a pre poo treatment overnight, sometimes as a sealer or to add shine/help my ends on dry hair.
also lately i have been using the new ouidad mongongo oil. it has castor oil in it too. my hair is drinking that up. ive been sealing with that on days i dont seal with coconut.

I actually just wrote a blog on oils.
My favs are:
- Coconut, although I don't like having to melt it before I put it on my hair.
-Hemp seed oil is something I have just started using and I like it thus far. It is also doing wonders for my skin.
-Argan oil
I sometimes do oil treatments with a combination of oils including grape seed which makes my hair feel very soft
-Avocado oil is another one I like, it is more expensive than the other oils I have tried but it is great for my hair.
-Jojoba oil
-Almond oil
- Macadamia oil
I've tried more than these, but these are my favs.

i just love using oils for my hair and body and have ended up with a massive collection, all tried and tested.
these are my favs:
coconut oil,
argan oil,
macadamia nut oil,
aprecot oil
eveing primrose oil
vit E oil
rosemary and pepperment
hemp is good as well, though i use it for when my hair is dry and misbehaving
i dont use olive oil, they i used to use it alot, now my hair hates it.
i use the oils for sealing, for oil treatments, for DT's, to mix with my condish, when i shampoo somtimes i mix same with my low poo, or ill prepoo......
while my hair is rather thick, i can get away with using it everyday, i dont always wash it out, depends what im doing with the oil.
my favs are coconut and argan, cause i cant seem to over dose on them, doesnt matter how much i use, my hair seems to soak it up.
i hope i helped someone

I love argan in my shmapoo and coconut in my DT also love anything with sunflower, grapeseed or olive oil in it. My low-porosity, protein-hating fine hair drinks oil and loooooves it!

My top three are in no particular order: Coconut, Camellia and Argan.
Camellia oil has three different varieties, but I use Camellia Japonica. I get it on Amazon, as well as my Argan oil. My coconut oil I get from Tropical Traditions. I have a number of other oils that I like a lot, but none as much as these.
I have a little dropper on my sink of a half and half mix of Camellia and Argan and it's my absolute fave.

Coconut! It's so light and all purpose and inexpensive. Omg, hempseed! That one is great for sealing in deep conditioners right before steaming. I'm also liking argan and my most recent purchase, baobab oil!

I love oils!
I use EVCO - mainly for pre-poos, but sometimes on dry hair. Once in a while on soaking wet hair mixed with LI. Mostly I find it works in combination with other stuff, or if I'm going to wash it out. On its own it tends to make my hair stiff if the temps aren't high enough to keep it from solidifying. That being said, it's good in the summer, and even has some natural SPF.
EVOO - I use it in my DT's!
Jojoba - it's a good sealer and refresher oil.
Burt's Bees nourishing baby oil - its gt a great mix of oils and I find it really moisturizing, by too heavy, and keeps the crunch at bay a bit. I use it mixed with LI on soaking wet hair.
SM elixir - I use this as a refresher, to SOTC, and on wet hair for moisture and sealing. Love it!
Mineral Oil - this is BY FAR the best thing I've found for sealing my porous hair. It doesn't weigh me down, it doesn't give me build-up (even when I co-wash), and it keeps moisture in, and excess moisture out. It's somewhat "controversial", but once I read a few articles on NC, I decided to give it a try. It's now become a complete HG for me! I dont use it EVERY time (especially when I'm not leaving the house that day), but I use it most of the time. Just a few drops over LI and under gel.
I'm sure I'll try more oils! Argan is on my radar for sure! (though that's ingredient #2 in SM's elixir)

Love Grapeseed as a sealer. Evoo works for the occasional oil rinse and as an additive to DC's. Nut oils break out my face, so I'm limited, but apricot, fig and cherry kernel sound so luxurious! These are on my wish list

I used coconut oil for years, but now.... And y'all gonna think I'm crazy.... I'm using vegetable oil. The kind you cook with. I use to use peanut oil, but we haven't bought that in awhile, so I just gave it a shot. And it was great! I seal with it nightly. I love it! It smells funky, so I added a little vanilla scent to it and now it smells all fancy.
I still use coconut oil on my face and body though.
