Does anyone know of any gels that are protein-free and relatively cheap? My hair dislikes the LALSG and EcoStyler gels, so I've been reading up on the Biotera gel. Any other suggestions?

I normally like protein in gel, but I had issues with LALSG and Eco Styler also. Biotera gel is one of my favorites. I like the thinner consistency and it plays well with everything I've tried it with.

I've been loving Aussie instant freeze. Another good one is Herbal Essences set me up gel. Hth!

Perhaps the L'Oreal EverStyle Curl Defining Gel. I've never used it but it has a nice review on YT.

Thanks everyone! I loved the GF Pure Clean gel (it was my HG *sigh*) but at about $5.00 for 6.8 ounces, I had to stop buying it. I was going through at least one bottle every week! But if I can't find a good gel, I'll just have to reconsider the GFPC gel. It's also hard for me to find a gel that doesn't react with my leave-ins. Do the gels that you all use ever react badly with your leave-ins or stylers?

My Bioterra gel has soy protein. I had to stop using it. I'm trying out Nothing But Curl Sealer and I'm okay with the results. I don't use anything else, so if it can manage my hair all by itself it's pretty durable.
