Default Can you use "African Black Soap" as a shampoo bar?

Does anyone know any good shampoo bars?

I was thinking about buying Bobeam shampoo bars, but I might just end up buying the African Black Soap by Nubian Heritage because I prefer products I can simply buy on the ground at Walmart or anywhere near by. Is it only meant for your skin or can you use it for your hair as well? Right now I'm using ACV, but, eehhh, well, I'm not really sure how to use it or the proper way to dilute it and it just seems too complicated so I might just resort to shampoo bars.

I wouldn't.

I wouldn't use any soap bar that isn't made to be used as a shampoo bar. I'm pretty sure the pH is different and it could be drying or irritate the scalp.

Maybe not. But I wouldn't try.

My husband has been using Shea moistures black soap on his hair but he has straight hair . I don't know if I would use it as a curly.

I've tried using Nubian heritage soap bars as shampoo bars and it was pretty awful. Regular shampoo bars are great though, so I'd stick with Bobeam

You sure can. I just used it this past weekend because I was too lazy to make my regular shampoo bar which I had ran out of.

Many of the "shampoo bars" that are sold that are popular on this board are actually soaps (CP soap, like body soap).
Some people's hair can take it, some can't.

I prefer to use a real shampoo bar (made with mild detergents--this is really a solid form of a regular liquid shampoo) because the pH is right where our hair likes to be. But when I can't, ABS works well for me.

@ the above: same here -- my husband uses a black soap bar from head to toe and I use black soap on my scalp all the time. It really helps lift up the flakes on my dry scalp.

I use natural soap bars on hair and body. I found the black soap I used "stronger." It was pretty drying.
