Default What are some gels i can buy that are all natural?

I want a gel that has a strong hold like eco-styler but is all natural. I love using the eco-styler because it brings out my curl pattern a lot but it has wheat protein in it which is bad for my hair. Plz help! I have thick, 4c hair that is low porosity.

I've never used Eco-styler so I can't compare. But I like Curly Kinks Coil Jam for a natural gel. I'm not sure I would say it has strong hold - probably more like medium/medium-strong hold. I also like KCCC. I don't have low-porosity hair, so I don't know whether those will work for you or not. Good luck!

My favorite brands are Kinky Curly, As I am, Curly Kinks, Curl Junkie, and Darcy's Botanicals. Also love sealing with oils (loving argan oil right now) and styling with jelly products (KCCC is my current favorite). Mostly trying to keep it simple!

I don't have low porosity either, but ... Deva Curl Mirror Curls is all natural. To be used sparingly. You would probably have to SOTC because it tends to make the hair stiff. It's expensive, but tends to go a very long way. Honestly though, I'm not in love with the stuff. Some curlies rave about it.

Think I've read somewhere on these boards that KCCC followed by an application of home made FSG (If you're up to making homemade and perishable gel), works well. Some people do add preservatives to their mixes though, apparently.

I'm too impatient for FSG so I go the semi-natural route and use KCCC followed by JOICO Joigel Firm. The Joigel firm doesn't have wheat protein, but it does have keratin, if that's a problem for you. It has a "cone" too, but it's water soluble (PEG-8 Dimethicone). It's a little expensive, but it's top of the line quality and like KCCC, a little goes a long way. Totally worth it IMO.

Am always amazed that anyone can successfully use Eco Styler. The stuff gives me broom head. KCCC is so much more expensive, but the ingredients seem much healthier and are all natural, like you desire.

I'm low porosity
I love Koils by Nature Peppermint Curl Defining Gel! I'm only a 2c/3a, but this gel was actually made for 3c - 4c, I think. I love it, though, and definitely recommend it!

I'm on the low porosity side and I really like Aubrey Organics Mandarin magic jelly as my gel. I just ordered their b5 gel so I'll see how that works too. I think its supposed to have a stronger hold then AOMMJ.

I use the Fructis Pure Clean Gel which is 98% naturally derived and gives an extra strong hold. It is affordable and it doesn’t make my hair too hard or cause flakes and build up.

I don't think the GF Pure Clean is strong hold at all. My hair poofs out after a couple hrs.

I'm normal porosity and I LOVE the Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic Jelly. My summer HG styler for sure – and it plays nice with other products, such as leave-ins, for winter. <3 The B5 gel is good too, but I feel like the MMJ gives me more definition with less crunch.

I guess it works for some and not for others. My hair is very thick and it still holds all day for me.

I have low porosity hair...the only true strong hold gel that Ive come across is the biosilk one...which I hated....I actually use 2-3 different gels...Ilove deva arcangel...seems to make my curls pop..and I've heard they have a new gel that has.a stronger hold....I also love KCCC, but it takes forever to dry...so I use this in the smasters method..I would try different gels, but just make sure the store has a good return policy...

Just got some Aubrey Organics B5 design gel.....this is supposed to be stringer than the AOMMJ....I'll report back on the results.
