Clumping with a towel?
I don't fully know how to clump and everything, I don't even know if i have clumps or anything but here goes. I was reading the scrunch and pump thing, when you scruch but then like flex your hand like 8 times or something?... Anyway, as my hair takes way too long to dry, could I pump with a microfiber towel? Thanks

To clump my hair, I flip my head over after washing, conditioning, and detangling. Then, I gently comb it with a wide-toothed comb as the water runs through it to get good clumps. At this point, it should look like large ramen noodles, haha. After that, I get just a regular terry cloth towel (microfibers make me frizz) and very softly scrunch the curls to absorb some water, but not too much. Then, I scrunch n' pump in my leave-in conditioner, my styler, and some argan oil.
Hope this helps!

When I get out of the shower, I take a cotton t-shirt and scrunch my hair a little. This gives me really good clumps. I have just recently started this and have received really good compliments. The only thing I have to watch is scrunching out too much water. If I do, I get frizz. This is also why I use the cotton t-shirt, not microfiber. I tried it with a microfiber towel, and it dried my hair too much.
My hair is low porosity, which means it take FOREVER to dry. Scrunching with a towel first thing has definitely helped reduce drying time. HTH

Try a CLU towel or cotton teeshirt to scrunch out water and "pump" in curl. Microfiber and terrycloth can be frizz inducing.

The CLU towels are amazing and they've cut my low-po forever-and-a-day drying time to a little over an hour!!

My hair:
2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
My routine:
Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
LI: KCKT or CJSL
Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)
Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.
