Live Curly hair test- any ever do it?
Has anyone ever paid for the hair test from the LIve curly live free website.
If so. did it help? did it give you good products to try that worked? and did you feel it was worth the money?
thanks

They don't recommend products anymore. I did it, and it's not that expensive, so it's your call. They will basically tell you your thickness, porosity, and elasticity and give you a few guidelines. Personally, I'm skeptical, because I noted that a LOT of people seem to be getting the same results I did, namely medium, normal, normal. I'm not sure how much I trust it.

I can only speak to my experience. I thought my hair was low porosity, fine textured and I bought products and did things to my hair following that thought process. My hair didn't respond very well. It was stringy, brittle and dry. I found out about Live Curly, Live Free service and sent off my monies. I got back my analysis and found out I actually have medium coarse hair with normal porosity, normal elasticity. I stopped using protein in my hair every week. It is not needed on a regular basis like it is for someone with fine hair. My hair is thriving now.

I'm new to the CG Method and would like to hear more responses on people's experience too because I'm not sure if I can tell these properties myself.

I also did the hair analysis. Like Juanab I had figured my properties completely wrong and couldn't understand why my hair didn't seem to behave the way it was supposed to. Once I got my correct properties my curls looked much better.

my analysis came out medium texture, but i still use protein treatments regularly, and it works like a charm for my hair!

Your hair is medium. Mine is medium coarse. Coarse hair requires very little if any protein. Medium textures can fair pretty well with protein.

I was trying all kinds of products and getting nowhere. I got the hair analysis almost the minute it was available. Once I knew I needed more moisture and little to no protein for my medium-coarse, low elasticity, normal porosity hair, I started looking for and using products that were MUCH more moisturizing than I had been trying, and my hair responded really well. Best money I've spent on my hair, by far.

Thanks everyone. If they don't give product recommendations, do they say, your hair is xyz and you should use products that contain xyz and/or stay away from certain things?
thanks again. I'm very very tempted to have it done.

Yes, that's exactly what they do.
