JLPMom, I am so pleased you had a great success with it! I use mine the same way, twisting certain clumps that are more stubborn or inconsistent, or applying the tips of the comb to my roots and twisting to make the root lift and clump properly (with a dash of heat).

Jas, I am sure it will help you create root lift...I hope you like yours! I think JLPMom said she got a large? I have a medium, and I am going back to get a large! Handy to have both sizes, and I think the large would work better for the roots

THe thing I absolutely adore about this gadget is that it has so much slip, it never, ever gets stuck in my tangly hair So unlike other tools, I can actually use it painlessly

Hmm... On amazon it has a small and a medium, but I didn't see a large. Does Sally's site have the different sizes? I only recall seeing one.

Update! Sally's site has two sizes - small and medium.

If you want a large, I can buy you one and mail it to you. They have them at the store.

Thanks! That's really nice of you! If they don't have them at my local store I may take you up on that!!

What size do you have again? I would think the smallest size would be the best for curling... ? Of course I'm still not sure exactly how this gizmo works - lol! I get using the tips to lift the roots, but I'm a little foggy on the twirling or the curling...

I have the medium, which is useful for sidewalk chalk width curls, but I think the large would be awesome for the roots - think of a roller size...it would be like using a round brush or rollers, but it doesn't split your root clumps or anything. The small one is quite slim, would be good for sharpie-size curls, I think. I would pick the size that suits your personal curls.

For using it to place a curl, you just put the end of your clump in the middle prongs, and twirl it with the direction of your curl leave it in a sec, then slip it out, without disturbing the curl you've just helped. I also use mine to gently pick-comb my roots and my bangs once they are dry. So it's kinda like the Swiss-Army tool for hair lol

And you're welcome, anytime. Always happy to help a fellow curly.

Oh!! Thanks, I understand more now!!

And I didn't realize the small was that small! Sounds like the medium would be better for me then, though I do have some "sharpie" curls underneath.

I'm excited to get this and experiment now!! Lol!!

If any of you want to make a video, feel free! lol...I am too much of a techno-idjit to do it. Anyways, I'd have both hands busy in my hair ;p lol!

Jas, looking at your hair, I'd say medium width would be fine...I put my index finger in an "o" shape around my medium one, and it (my finger) connected to the joint, or knuckle, in my thumb. I have medium hands. I have to say that when you put the prongs directly onto your roots (end of the comb directly against the head) and you twist it, and give a shot of heat, it keeps root clumps looking awesome, as well as giving a twist n' lift. Since I only blow dry my roots, it only takes me a few minutes to achieve the kind of lift I want, without disturbing my curls or breaking my hair...hth!

Jsuzkelley, hope it works for you - please let us know
