Cool hair tool from Sally's

I posted a pic of this tool in another thread about creating tighter curls. This tool is, like, the cat's meow! lol! ;p It has several different lengths of prongs, and slides through the hair like butter.

I use this comb for lifting my roots while I give them a short shot of heat, and therefore create volume at the crown. (I can't use the clip system, it breaks my hair when I try to remove the clips.) You can use it as a round brush in a way, because you can stick it in your roots and pull them out slightly, then aim a shot of heat at roots. Sometimes, I just use it to gently lift my roots, so I can get a bit of heat in with my blowdryer. It won't stick in your hair or disrupt your curls. (I have long hair, nearly waist-length.) Or, I stick the ends directly against my scalp, twist gently to encourage clump/curl, and then give it a shot of heat.

You can use this tool for creating spiral curls too, or creating a curl in a piece that is stubborn and won't curl properly - you wind it in your hair from the bottom up, like winding spaghetti ;p lol! It does work. It never sticks in the hair, either. It does not cause tangles (well, at least not in my hair!) it just slips back out effortlessly.

I bought mine at Sally's for about $5 and they are beside the hairbrushes. It requires nothing but a twist of the wrist and a small shot of heat from the blowdryer. Great for flat bits and stubborn bits.

That's pretty neat, I saw one of these one day when I went to sallys but I was in a hurry and was like hmm what the heck is that for? then kept walking lol

There is no instruction on the package, and the sales clerk did not know what it was good for or how to use it ;p but I bought it cause my "gut" told me it would be good, and I love mine! lol! Go for it next time you are there - it is a useful little thing!

I even use it to twist my bangs into submission

and as I said, it is *amazing* for lifting your roots!

I saw your post and was in Sally's today and bought one. Mine came with some instructions. You just twiril it in partially dry hair and then blowdry it and slide it out. I've yet to use it. But I bought cuz I too need volume at my roots!
We'll see tomorrow when I use it.

Oh, lol! i use mine in wet hair - but it still works a treat

I was in Sally's tonight and remembered this thread, so of course i had to pick one up! At my Sally's they had these in a bin on clearance w/ a bunch of other clearance combs and brushes, and it was only $2!! The package says it is the "Large" size.

I can't wait to play w/ this tomorrow. I have these pesky sections on the left side of my face that stubbornly curl inward no matter what I do and always look a mess. I can't wait to play w/ this new toy tomorrow when I diffuse and see if I can get things under control!

well, you could always go to the Sally's link and read the reviews there, though there are only two so far ;p lol!Newave - Curl Easy Pro Brush For $2 - $5, I would think you can't really go wrong...and hey, if it doesn't work for you, you could use it to twist your spaghetti, lol!

ETA: for the record, I didn't think mine would really be useful at all - and now I am quite addicted to it

Thanks for the info I am going to check it out...I find the Sally's here in Toronto is not as good as the one in the States but I'll look for it.

OK - I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an awesome find! Used it two ways: After I low-pooed and conditioned this morning, I plopped for a bit and then put some gel in. While my hair was wet, I went through w/ the curling brush and very quickly twirled sections all the way around, away from my face. So, I was kind of "molding" my hair. I air dried for about 40 minutes, and then diffused. While I was diffusing, I used the brush again to go in at the roots, did kind of a twist and lift thing while applying heat, resulting in AWESOME root lift (normally hard for me to achieve, my hair is really heavy!)

My hair looks really good, different than normal, this was a great tool for kind of "redirecting" my curl and wave. I hope it's not just beginners luck, and that I can consistently get these results! I already think I am going to go back to Sally's and buy a back up! I'd also be interested in getting the medium one, I think it would work even better for my shorter layers.

I dont think my hair would respond well to twisting all the way around, but I think the root lifting would be good!

And I'm willing to experiment! Lol!!
