That's the thing. If it's too short to put back. Think headbands or barrettes I guess

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

Slept on regular pillow case, no bonnet or cap and my hair actually looked good this morning!! I just fluffed lightly and was ready to go. Less tweaking than when I let down the pineapple.

Lets see what kind of reactions I get from my coworkers...

Pros: hair didn't take 5+ hours to dry and I don't need to clip roots for volume.

Cons: can't pineapple, can't put hair up if its really humid/windy out. Guess I'll be looking into hats. Haha
get some headbands, they look really nice. i actually get compliments when i wear them, and that's on 'bad' hair days!!

Omg!!!! SO CUTE!!! I love it! Hope you are still liking it just as much!!

I couldnt go that short - my curls wouldn't cooperate, and I'd look like a 12 year old boy. Lol!! Something about my face - it can't pull off short hair.

But it's adorable on you!!! LOVE IT!!

So the overwhelming response was positive today. I was very surprised. I thought I'd get "Why'd you cut your hair?" Ironically, the 1 person who posed that question and didn't approve of my cut has long, thinning, straight, limp, scraggly bra strap length hair!

Thanks for the tips and compliments! Def helps me feel better about my decision.

I love it! I'm not surprised that you received positive remarks! It is a great style for you and I actually don't think of it as being short.

I love the cut! I've really been thinking about going short again. Especially seeing these awesome pics

cuban-curl-e -- the last photo of your hair after you styled it is very much like the way i have my hair now. just got it cut 2 weeks ago, asked him to go shorter. the front of my hair, the very front around my face, the sides, is difficult. it was either straggly, limp,or extremely dry no matter what i did with it, so after a year and a half of trying different products, routines with those pieces, i thought i'd just do a shorter style. the back of my hair is still the same as in my photo, not stacked as you said yours is, but that is probably the only difference.

Thanks for the compliments. It really does make me feel better. I was regretting it for a bit but am liking it now. It is surprisingly versatile and I can get many "looks". It seems like it looks better each time I style it.

Corrina, I'm jealous that your hair can grow and not get scraggly but I bet your hair would look great with a short messy fun cut! Your hair is pretty awesome though. Can't go wrong.

Hi LaurieS! Haven't "seen" you around in a while. I always thought my hair was more coarse than it is but I get you on the controlling the poof! Even with my fine/low density hair I can get big volume easily!

Thanks again ladies for all the curly support.

I literally laughed out loud at the 12 year old boy. Funny! I'm sure that's not the case. You have awesome shiny long hair. Love it!

I had a pixie for years and loved it. I am growing it out now, but mainly because I just wanted to do something different, and I think one reason I was so frustrated when I had long hair was that I kept trying to make it straight instead of wavy. I happen to adore short hair on women if it suits them. I see women with those choppy rocker cuts (especially if there's color streaks in them), and it makes me want one again. And dude, I'm only a wavy, and pasty one at that, but I love a nicely kept afro. There's a lady at my church with a short afro, and I want one!

I will say that I encountered a lot of "short hair hate", especially from guys, but sometimes from women. It's sort of a weird phenomenon. I had numerous guys ask me why I didn't have long hair, and when I was going to grow it out. Even random guys on the street! One girl had the nerve to tell me that all women secretly wanted long hair like hers and every woman hated her because of her hair, so because I had a pixie, she would not speak to me. It was so backward, though I suspect she really didn't have self esteem in any other area, so she concentrated it all in her hair. I was sort of mystified and puzzled by her response, but I have been looking over a long hair forum for tips on growing it out, and found a bunch of similar responses.

The only guy I've known who has told me repeatedly that he prefers short hair is my dad. When I told him I was growing it out this time, he told me he didn't like it and I should cut it back off.

That is home from salon. Back is stacked (sorry no pic of the back of my hair). My hair is drying now, again, so we'll see if I like it even more. It is more versatile -- I can def play with it with clips, all back, big and voluminous etc. All I could do with my longer hair was messy buns which I did, a lot!

Thanks for your input. I agree with you guys, longer hair is not necessarily better especially with fine or low density hair. Now I have to figure out how to sleep since I can't pineapple anymore!!!
I love this first 'salon styled' picture. I think it looks fantastic! I wish I could get my hair to do that now! I am in the growing out phase of a pixie. I may take your picture in to my stylist!
