You know how you look at your hair, and you think, well my routine is working, and its good but not GREAT...so then you consult your product graveyard...So. its cold here in Wisconsin and my hair is not great. The one product I have never really worked with is a curl cream. But I have them! Samy, and Aveda's Be Curly Curl Enhancer. I just applied some to my very wet hair, just a tad, and then applied my Pantene mousse, which has a firm hold. Its clipped up at the moment, but I was wondering: How do you use a curl cream? with what product(s)? in the cold winter or summer? what do they do for you?? or not??

With very few exceptions, I use the following products, in the following order, every time I cleanse my hair (I usually cleanse daily):
Leave-In: either regular conditioner or a designated leave-in
Curl Enhancer: this is usually a curl cream, but once in a while it could be a jelly type product
Hold Product: usually gel, sometimes mousse.

Everything else is optional (oil, Curl Keeper, etc). I use curl creams for increased curl definition and enhancement, regardless of the time of year.

Corrina, your hair has seemed quite similar to mine, and your suggestions were always helpful - what curl cream do you use? I did not see it on your list of products...

There are a few that give me good results. Re:Coil is my favorite truly CG curl cream, but I know the mag sulfate is a problem for some people. TIGI Curls Rock Amplifier is my other HG. It does contain cyclo-cones, which evaporate off of the hair, but are technically not CG. I have a few others that I use on occasion, but these are the main two.

I don't have a curl cream rec as I am trying to find one too but corrina I was wondering how you could avoid the mag sulf problem in recoil? I tried it but it was drying and tangley. I loved the curl enhancement but didn't like the dryness. I don't care for leave ins either :/

I've been using CJ Coffe Cocoa Cream now that the weather gets colder. I put only a small amount of it in soaking wet hair (maybe something like 2 peas), add some gel for hold, plop and diffuse. Without the creamier products I feel my hair is too dry. CJ CCC gives me really nice definition and soft, bouncy curls.

Today I found a curl cream that I've never seen before and bought it. Lernberger Stafsing Curl Cream. Will try that tomorrow. I'm not sure if that can be found in the States and if anyone has some experience of it...?
