You know what? I'm the COMPLETE opposite. I can't stand going to get my hair cut. In fact, I've been doing it myself because I dread the stylist's chair so much!

I love a good haircut! Unfortunately it doesn't happen nearly as often as it should so I gave up. I cut my own now.

I have a really good hair stylist. I get really nervous, but I do it every few months to keep my hair healthy. I used to freak out about the length, but I handle it better now than I used to.

I love going to my stylist (I heart you Kimbie!). She's a good friend and cuts great hair (not curly hair specific, but it looks good curly after she's cut it).
Alas, I am in desperate need of a haircut or a trim or a shaping or whatever. She works in a salon that's 45 minutes away and happens to be through snowy canyon passes this time of year. I might have to break and go to one of the sister salons to a guy who has cut my hair before (fantastic, too...never had a bad haircut or color-when I chemically colored my hair-from any of these salons).
Hello, my name is Sunshine and it has been something around 10 months since my last haircut...I think it's time I jumped back on the wagon. I need some serious layers to help with this length I'm unused to.

Products
This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.
No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

There was a time when I'd rather go to the dentist than the hairdresser! I'm not quite so horrified these days but I'd never say I look forward to, or get excited about, a trip to the hairdresser.
Glad you had a good experience.

I'm glad you're excited. Hope it goes well for you.
For me it used to be some combo of positive excitement and abject terror. Now it's a still that combo, but with a little more excitement than terror since finding a decent deva cut stylist.

I love getting my hair cut. Right now I'm going pretty regularly, every 3 months or so, just for small trims to keep my shape looking good while I'm growing it out (trying to get to waist length!). But before that, I would go 6 months to a year between cuts, just so that when I did go in, I could cut tons of it off. There's something I really love about changing up the look of my hair that I just don't get from regular trims (I know this probably sounds weird, but I like seeing piles of hair on the floor - this scares most people, but I love it). I'm trying to force myself to keep it long to make my WL goal, but I have a feeling that once I get there, I'll be chopping it off right away, lol! But I do understand the fear of a bad hair cut - I had a terrible cut in high school that literally looked like 3 shelves of hair sticking out of my head (shudder). But I think I've gotten much better at communicating what I want since then, and haven't really had any major problems (even when I was just going to SuperCuts and getting a plain old wet cut). Now that I have a deva-trained stylist, I don't worry at all.
