I need help. Just want to start over!

My hair has been squeaky lately but greasy and dry at the same time, sometimes sticky, sometimes frizzy......just ahhhh. I hate this

I'm thinking it was probably product build-up. I know it isn't protein because I never use protein. I clarified with a sulfate shampoo, but it was labeled as a hydrating one, so I don't even know if it got rid of everything in my hair. It didn't seem to help much. I got the Shea Moisture Purification Mask, thinking it would clarify and moisturize, but all it did was leave MORE residue.

Is it possible to just start over with a clean slate? I was thinking of just buying Suave Clarifying Shampoo or something tomorrow, washing it a lot, and then deep treating with honey + my Koils by Nature Hydrating Conditioner for a few hours.

Any advice for would awesome! Except for ACV rinse...those don't do anything for me. Thank you so much!!!

"Sticky mess" are you using products with glycerine? My hair gets gummy when I use glycerine.

My hair got "greasy" and frizzy when I used a product with mineral or castor oil. It's hard to explain, but you'll know it if you've got it.

For me, it took several lowpoo washes to remove it and get my hair back to normal. Needless to say, I've gotten much better at reading labels and checking "gift" products (when someone sends you something to try--I go online to check the ingredients.)

I would definitely clarify with something cheap and follow it with a moisturizing conditioner.
Coarse texture, normal-high porosity, normal elasticity (Komaza Care), very weak waves

rinse out: GVP Conditioning Balm, CJ Repair Me, CJ Smoothing

Thank you all for the wonderful advice!
I was planning to buy a cheap clarifying and do that tonight...but I actually did the opposite. I cowashed, which I haven't done in forever!

Last night, when I was frustrated with my squeaky, gummy hair, I decided just to French braid it to get it out of the way. It was so tangly, so I brought out some old Knot Today to detangle. I didn't expect anything, but when I took it out today, my hair was super soft and hydrated!! I'd stopped using KCKT because it wasn't moisturizing, but it was great this time.

I figured while I was bringing back old products, I'd retry some Darcy's Botanicals Cleansing Conditioner. That made my hair feel so smooth...and not squeaky I used KCKT as a leave-in and DB Curling Cream-Gel to style, followed by argan oil to seal. Love the results!

Maybe it's because my other leave-ins had glycerin? Also, it might have been Shea Moisture Retention...I'd been using it exclusively for a while...

Anyway, I think I might be back on the CG cowash wagon

I've heard the SM can be heavy and weigh down hair. I remember my brief stint where I tried the Smoothie and hated it! My hair felt gross and weighed down.

I think that's what it was. I was using the SM shampoo for months, which I thought was great, but now that I've switched to new products, my hair is curling much more. Also, I used the SM conditioner and Koils by Nature conditioner as leave-ins, and both of those might have weighed me down too because they're pretty oily. KCKT has no oil, so I don't have to worry about that. Also, the SM smelled soooo strong and gave me a headache!
