Hey plz help me.I av been trying 4 like forever 2 make d perfect twist but It nevEr works and I see a lot of natural ladies with nyc twist out but I can't achieve it.the problem is not that I don't know how 2 twist but I can't twist the whole of my head!!!I get frustrated cause my hair is really ful,nd whenever I twist it doesn't look nyc or moisturized it always look dry and tangled!.plz show me ways and step u use 2 twist out your hair(plz include pics)I would be really grateful cuz I want a nyc twist outplus I'm 1 year 9 months natural and have 10 inchies of hair when straightened
Have you tried using which product when twisting? We had the same problem with my younger daughter but now, with the help of the CJ method (low-poo once in a while) and some "butters", the twists and twist-outs are turning really nice. My favourite product has been Afroveda's Totally Twisted Almond Ginger Butter. Keeps the hair moisturized and neat for days. Or just some shea butter mixed with a small amount of Argan oil... Always gotten better results twisting damp/still a bit wet hair... Will try to find some photos...

Yep 2day I tried twist and twist out on a small portion of my hair(the rests were in half conrows and braid) with good moisturizing products.nd I LOVED the result.it looked and felt well moisturized.but I don't think I can do it all over my head, maybe I'll flat twist, but will I get the same results?

When your hair is short the best way to do a twist out type style is to do small sections unfortunately that is if you want a very defined look. Flat twists won't be as defined of a style. My twists usually take me 45 min to put in and I have VERY thick hair. Just depends on how much time you are willing to spend on a style. But a twist out will last me 3 days at least.

I DON'T MISS my relaxed hair but I miss my TRANSITIONIG HAIR,it was so good to me.don't get me wrong I LOVE my natural hair but It gets fustrating when I can't do any style only conrows and I see other people posting pics of nyc hairstyles and saying u can do it 2,I feel like I was lied 2 about natural(by some, not all) ,I'm really sorry if wat I said feels wrong 2 you it's just how I FEEL,its only when wet natural hair looks nyc or when snaped from a particular angle and they don't show us the bad side
I av always had long hair, and this is just hard 4 me I LOVE my HAIR TEXTURE(I love the way it looks in a puff,nd how my curls look so beautiful in it natural state without combing, once I comb it,it loses it pattern nd how d ends curl up 2gether) I just really want lenght,I'm so afraid my hair will get 2 a point and stop growing like my relaxed hair, but I can never ever relaxe my hair cuz then wat would be the point and I hate straight flat hair,I LOVE pUffY hair

Pinkycurl, sorry you're having such a hard time. Just recently started practicing twists/twist-outs on a willing victim and so I'm kind of worthless as far as specific advice with that, BUT please just remember that your hair WILL grow. In the mean time, you're at ground zero right now, with a new hair journey ahead (assuming you haven't BCd before). It's a time when you get to experiment with your short natural hair. You get to be really creative about the whole gig. There are so many styling options for short natural hair. Yes to Youtube for learning many of those! I couldn't agree more with the ladies pointing you to Youtube (Miss Darcei, I'm checking out your vids in a minute ).

This might not make you suddenly thrilled about your BC, but recalling when my hair when it was short: short hair has its own beauty.

Sometimes it's great to just COwash/condition it and do little else - just let it be free and notice the compliments you get. I think it's easy to forget that our wavy, curly and coily hair is okay on its own too, w/out needing to be tamed, curled more, stretched, shrunk, pinned, twisted or contrived in some way. Another reminder: Short hair highlights facial features (especially eyes). Ear/neck jewelry is more noticeable too. When my hair was really short, it was an excuse to wear an array of interesting earrings because they stood out more against short hair. Hats and scarves looked elegant (they're great for lazy hair days too). It's possible you could really get into your short hair phase Whatever you do next, good luck fellow curly!

I recently cut off some of my straight ends and my hair is so different and very short. I miss my long hair a lot too. Last November I had long hair but I've been cutting it to get rid of all the damage i've done. I miss the way my curls used to hang and hate having hair that doesnt even touch my shoulders. But I know that it will grow back. I recently started doing length checks. Every 3 months I measure my hair with measuring tape. It it solid proof that your hair is growing. When I get frustrated with my hair length, I wear my hair in buns to hide it or I mini twist so that I don't have to deal with it for two weeks. It really makes the time fly by and eventually you forget about your hair and stop obsessing over it and before you know it, 3 months have passed and your hair is longer!
And dont be afraid to wear your hair the way it is. You need to get used to your natural hair. The more you look at it and wear it with confidence, the more you will love it, I promise.
Dont get frustrated. Know that your hair will be long one day if you keep taking care of it. It really is all about being patient.
