Shea Butter, how do you all use it?

I have read alot about shea butter and that alot of you think of it as a HG, but how do you use it? How much, and when? I have some at home, and I use it on my dry hands and cuticles, but I'm a little afraid to put it in my hair, (maybe afraid it will be too greasy)
Izzy, started CG in January after being bald for over a year!
Currently using Devacurl No-Poo, One-C, Angell, Set-it-Free. Weekly Jessicurl WDT. Lemon-aid every other week.
I love using shea butter in my hair and I'm a pretty fine 3A, although it does seem that my hair drinks up lots of stuffy that some people find greasy

I take a pea sized amount and melt it in my hands and just scrunch in throughout the day whenever I want a boost, I add more on the parts that are frizzy. Even when I put a LOT on, my hair doesn't get greasy, it just looks really soft and makes my curls spring up and look really shiny!
2b (a fine 'n porous wavy)...and finally growing out :-)

Wash: Deva Low-poo
Condish and leave in: OneC or Suave Coconut

Styler: Angell or the Deva foam, sometimes KKKC

Etc: Set It Free as a refresher

Protien: Looking for one

I love hairspray...don't judge
a non-hair tip: run a hot bath, melt about a tablespoon of shea butter under the running tip, and when you come out of the bath you'll have baby soft skin. We swear by it; esp in the winter. I use the African Shea Butter.
I'll have to try that bath tip for the body. I have pure african shea butter too but I haven't figured out the best way to use it. I tried it on my face because of all the great reviews because of its healing properties and I break out each and every time. So, I can't use it on my face
I can use products that have shea in them on my face but not straight shea.
I tried it on my hair and that was a disaster! I couldn't get it out.
I do like it on my feet. Mine is oily going on but does soak in after a while.
Is it supposed to be oily feeling once melted on your hands?

I use it as a deep conditioner. It works wonderfully. I actually make a body butter and sell it so I have quite a bit of shea on hand. I actually have some for sale in the sale and swap board!

Anywho, what kind of quality did you get , Darby? I will only use refined on my face. It find if I use just raw shea on my face it breaks out terribly but refined doesn't. (I am selling refined)

Yes, it is suppose to be somewhat greasy but it soaks in pretty fast. Are you melting it and then putting it on? I just normally use it like it is.

Only you can make the right decisions for yourself.

And no, I don't warm it up to melt it. I just rub it into my hands then onto my face. But I bet that's what the problem is then -- raw on my face=bad news.
