Conditioning Balm Discontinued?
Soooo, the matrix hydratherapie cond. balm has had a formula change in the last year, but the original has now phased off Ulta shelves and off the Matrix website. Walgreens also phased out their BioInfusion "cond. balm" knock off...wondering if the Sally's version is next to go. It's too bad, cuz I just bought a bottle hoping to give it another shot as a leave in...any thoughts? (FYI, the new aloe version did not please my aloe sensitive hair)

A trip to sally's will happen today or tomorrow......
I'm in mourning right now, btw.
I don't suppose there's any chance they'll keep it around?
And does anyone have a CG replacement suggestion??
I can't believe Matrix got rid of that. I've used that (on and off) for... Well, a lot of years.

OK that's a new one on me and I WORK in a salon that carries it. We still have it and still get it in, even in the new duos that we've been getting for the holidays. I'm wondering though if the orchid deep conditioner isn't taking it's place.
I guess this means I should stock up too.

I just went to the Matrix site to check and it's still there, under Biolage, hydrating, hyratherape, treatments.

I can't guarantee it hasn't been reformulated, but I will check the bottles at work on Monday first thing when I go. The site doesn't list ingredients.

Oh and if for some reason it is, the Biolage orchid color bloom mask deep treatment is totally CG. Cone free, protein free, moisture only. It does have glycerin though.

This has been my favorite rinse out for the last few years. I went to Sally's today and stocked up. They had 5 bottles left. I asked the girl about it being discontinued, and she said it wasn't...the GVP balm. She said she also didn't see that it would be discontinued. I wanted to be on the safe side anyway.

This could be good if I'm just confused. However, I know the original version to have no aloe, just rosemary, goldenseal and bladder whack. The reformulated version has added aloe in the ingredients and a small aloe icon on the packaging that reads "new"....however, the only conditioning balm I see on the link to the website is the package with an aloe icon. Am I way behind? and everyone using the balm is already accustomed to the aloe version???? Am I longing for a version long gone?

Also, I have not read the ingredients to Sally's version, but does this also have aloe?

Even the "Ultra-Hydrating Balm" on the website says its added aloe+passion fruit as "new"...

The Sally's version does not have aloe that I know of. If Matrix did add aloe I wonder how long it would take Sally's to catch up.

OH yeah that aloe reformulation was quite awhile back. If you have been using it recently, like within the last 5-6 months or so and had no issues then you should be fine. I think it was July-ish but I could be wrong.

As for the tubes, they started putting smaller amounts in tubes long before the reformulation. They still have it in tubs also. If you need something without aloe, the orchid doesn't have it.
eta the orchid does have a little bit of isopropyl alcohol in it though....but I use it regularly and it doesn't dry me out. Sometimes companies add a little bit of it to increase absorption, which is what I'm assuming is the case here.
