I need help (desperately)

Hello! I've been on here before, years ago, but not really enough. I am a 21-year-old 2c (possibly 3a) curly girl (since it says Taylor Swift's hair is 2c, I'll go with that, it has pretty much the same pattern). It's shoulder-length, which is a great achievement for me, since it grows so slowly.

My hair is very VERY dry; the top part usually does well enough and looks smooth and fine... But the bottom layer is an absolute mess. It grows all over the place in very coarse, brittle strands. It's also splintering and splitting more and more often. I'm just lost on what to do, and I'm just considering chopping it all off, though it grows so slowly I would hate myself for doing that.

So about my routine. I try to wash one day and let it rest another with Clear dandruff shampoo. I've tried doing less, but it refuses to be styled and gets horrible dandruff! Plus I live in Mexico, and the heat from spring to autumn makes it really awkward for myself and others around me if I don't shampoo. I Use TreSemme Naturals silicone-free conditioner as a leave-in and usually pair it up with TreSemme Curl Care mousse. I try to use avocado, olive, or sweet almond oil whenever possible, but it ends up only happening once or twice a month.

What should I do? Can it still be saved, or should I just start over and hope I can get shoulder-length hair again in a decade or so?
I would try deep conditioning more often...I usually do dc once a week (i'm a 3b) and i think it really helps a lot

Speaking from experience, if you have split ends the longer you procrastinate about removing them the more you will have to cut once you realize they have to go. You will be suprised how fast it grows when you do and secondly how do you take care of your hair? Do you do the loc method, moisturize and sealing or dc's? And lastly how long is it before you start producing flakes after you wash? Do you use heat on your hair? And if so how much and do you protect your hair?
have you thought that maybe you cant take protien? i would take a look through your list of things you use and if there is alot of protien in it, (or a bit) try not using that product for a bit and moisturise more.
also sealing is great to keep the moisture locked in. its easy, just use same oil on the ends of your hair once you've got your leave in. there is no easy fix, you would have to do somthing for a few weeks/months to start to see a difference. so if it doesnt help at the start dont give up.
ooh you might want to try to start taking same vitamins, biotion and msn are great to help with the health of your hair.

my hair: 3c, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.

I also blog about my hair journey, please feel free to read and comment/ask questions http://www.naturallycurly.com/blogs/...air-blogs/2494
