pH: 5.6 to 6.5

Well I have a habit of googling any ingredients if I don't know what they are, or what their purpose is. I have gone through the ingredients list which I'm perfectly okay with.

The only thing that has me confused is the pH. I am use to seeing shampoos, and other non-hair products with a pH that is between those numbers. I am just learning about pH right now actually, and the pH might hair responds best to.

A conditioner with this high of pH confuses me, what do you guys think?

Also I already know it's protein, and protein overload, and all that other protein-related stuff that gets repeated. I am not asking about the ingredients.Just the pH.

So..??

Does anyone think with the Ph being so high that this conditioner may be similar to Aphogee two step, or just a normal protein conditioner? ^^
I was planning to order a lot of the different products when I have a chance. When I just went back, most of them seemed to have pH that was a little higher then we're used to seeing on hair products. Some are given a range of two points.

Have you thought of emailing them and asking about it??

I'm not sure how true that is honestly, lol. Because my previous staple products I never tested the pH of them before I replaced them.

But so far it just seems like the higher pH while it may have great slip - it leaves the cuticles open and thus you may get ripping and snagging while trying to detangle the hair. Very strange to have a product with that much slip and moisture give that kind of result.
It all may depend on your hair properties. My fine/low porosity hair really likes cleansing with soap bars (alkaline.) I used to do an ACV rinse, but stopped because I figured that the products I used had the right pH for hair (wrong with these products.)

Years ago, there was a product (Dr. Bronner's Shakakai Rinse that had a really low pH (I forget be it was like 2 or 3.) While my hair didn't care for it, those with coarse (I forget if it was porous also) hair loved it.

The other thing to remember is that the cuticle on your hair isn't like Venetian blinds. It doesn't open and close quite that easily. I think you need to take the "science" into account, but you also need to be realistic about what really happens.
