I had to go to the DMV today. The good news was that I got in and out within 20 minutes so the wait was not too torturous. So I get called and a black gal (though the race part is immaterial) with a gorgeous head of curls waits on me. I could not tell if they were natural or heat curls but they were gelled. However, I did not ask her to make the distinction. I simply said, "Your hair looks gorgeous." She had an enormous smile and said with a gushing sound, "Well, thank you." Thrilled to know I made her day.
