Default Once moisture is sealed. Can moisture be put back in????HELP

I need to know thiss!! please Help

This is my current regimen!!!!!!!
  1. Co wash once about every 4-5 days. Garnier triple nutrit.
  2. Leave in- Garnier Sleek and Shine
  3. Apply Extra virgin olive oil
  4. Apply Raw shea butter
  5. Smooth and finger comb
  6. Shake
  7. Air Dry
Re wet with water every morning and repeat steps 2-7 until the 4-5 days is up and I co wash.

My curls have been acting better than ever! Could be amount of water ive been drinking or....ive been eating tons of eggs.which are high in cholesterol. Like 4 a day.

ANYWAY So i put a GENEROUS amount of the EVOO and Raw Shea Butter in my hair. So much that after if dries. If i touch my hair, my hands are oily! I dont mind at all.. BUT Since i have so much oil in my hair. I re wet it EVERY morning. Is the moisture getting to my hair with all of that oil?????????????????????????????????????////

I doubt it because oil repels water so it's probably just beading up on your hair instead

Aww man.....it doesnt bead up though..my hair is always really wet and it doesnt repel it as far as the eye can see though..hmm. I hope not because I get the best definition like this!

Try misting hair at night add you oil and baggy. Your hair will be soft and moisturized in the morning. It will be moist and by the time you are out the door it will be dry. I did this a lot and it helped up my moisture retention.

Are you CG? Because I'm pretty sure the triple nutrition has cones in it? And possibly sleek and shine to?

Anyway, I think water can get into hair with oil in it. Like, maybe not as we'll, but I don't think the oil makes it impenetrable.

I thought it was CG .i heard it was at one point but both have Amodimethicone as the second ingredient :/ and it doesnt feel dry or anything..My regimen works great but i just wasnt sure if it was actually healthy and if i was actually moisturizing it by wetting it in the shower every morning.

well i hate sleeping on wet hair. plus my hair molds(not like fungus mold! lol) when i sleep on it. So instead of just refreshing it with a bottle. i rewet it in the shower . I dont have a problem retaining moisture that i know of. my regimen works great.. but i dunno if by wetting sealed hair every morning, if its actually going through the oil seal and getting to my hair! Everything seems fine but there could be a real scientific thing where once its sealed water doesnt go back in! lol I dunno!!!

Triple Nutrition and Sleek and Shine were reformulated earlier this year (March or so, I think) to include a-cone. Before that they were both decent CG condishes. A-cone isn't water soluble, but deposits a single layer, then repels additional deposits, so it shouldn't have built up. But, if you want to switch to something CG, you'll need at least a low poo to remove the cones.

The EVOO penetrates into the hair shaft, but I don't think the shea butter does.

I would guess you aren't getting as much moisture in there, but I would assume you are getting at least some! If you aren't getting dried out then I would say you have nothing to be concerned about!

The a-cone as someone already said on here isn't supposed to build up, and will create a good sealing layer, as well. (That would be harder to penetrate than your oils, even, I'd think.)

Just do what works for you! If this routine works, then why question it? If you start having issues later, then maybe think about a low-poo with coco betaine as needed - maybe once a month or so? Just to remove the cones and oil residue. And then follow up with a good DT to really get some moisture in there. Then back to your normal routine.

Just a suggestion - and that's IF you start to notice any issues!

I can vouch for tresemme naturals! Another good one is Vo5 Shea cashmere - tho it has protein.

If there's a Sally's around you try the GVP Conditioning Balm! (or you can order it online)

Oh - and you may want to clarify out the cones first. You dont have to go with sulfates, though. You can get one with coco betaine that is still gentle.

Or do a sulfate one - once shouldn't hurt you, and with all the oil you use, your hair is pretty well protected from it!

GVPCB is my HG condish! So thick and rich! Good slip! Great stuff!!! Cheap, too!
