Default Bangs more popular among curlies on the board?

I seem to see more and more curlies getting bangs. Is it just me or has anyone else thought of this too?

I am getting a cut on Saturday and I am almost tempted to get proper bangs too (although ask for them to be a little longer than a straighty). I have had like long bangs for a while and really like it...but I feel like something new. Maybe let my bob grow out (well it kinda is) and get bangs instead. Tricky business with bangs though.

Not just you. I want them, too. But I'm too scared at the moment to get them.

There are some that have them on here. Mine curl up and I don't have the heart to straighten them.
I think they look good sideswept and straightened though on all the pics I've seen in the albums of different people

Count me in. I've been letting my hair grow (from very short and straight to now shoulder length and curly). My bangs are very long and side-swept, which looks OK. I can't pull off the completely bare forehead look. I have a trim appointment in a week. I'm going to ask my stylist what she thinks about cutting it so that I'll have curly bangs vs. letting it continue to grow out. It's a hard decision to make.

I've noticed that a bit myself. I haven't had bangs in like 13 years and am just far too terrified about what they'd do if I were to have them again. I imagine something not pretty. I think I have a big forehead, but I'm willing to deal.

Oh, I want them! I think I look much better with bangs but I have this 'thing' about hair touching my face. I'm torn as whether or not to get bangs cut next time I see my stylist. Not being able to get them off of my face might send me off the deep end, lol!

I think you're forehead looks great in the cut you have.
I really should utilize my bangs but I just keep brushing them farther and farther back. The drive me nuts

I have bangs.. cute side swept when straight but when curly they can be a pain. Now that they are longer it is working pretty well but they used to curly up to about eye level and it was awful!

I have been straightening, and look much better with traditional bangs when my hair is straight. I want to go back to wearing my hair curly more, though, and I'm growing my bangs so they don't shrink up and look stupid. I need to get them at least past my cheekbone.

Well, thank you medusahair. (I can only assume your comment was meant for me since I originally commented on my forehead . . . If I'm wrong . . . )

However, you should have seen it when I was a baby. I looked like a damn alien with that forehead. :P

Is anyone watching What Not To Wear tonight by any chance? I'm curious because I'm wondering if either of the bangs that they cut on the 2 different ladies tonight would work on curly hair? They are so cute on them and if I thought they would work on curly hair I might go for it.

I recently got my hair cut with bangs! I hate them. >.< They're way too short. I'm hoping when they grow out they will look better. I loved my bangs when they were longer. Bangs are fun.

I got my hair cut while I was home on Christmas break and I asked for long side swept bangs like my sister has but my stylist said "oh no, you don't want a fringe." It was something about it making my hair look separated. I don't know really, but I still want something to take some of the emphasis off my forehead...

I want long, side swept bangs.. something that will look good straight AND wavy/curly.

I have bangs (again). They are cut straight across, like Bettie Page. My hair is 3a, and the first inch or so of my hair comes in straight, so I'm able to have bangs at this length and keep them straight with just hairspray or gel.

I have bangs. I don't really like them, to be honest. They are the hardest part to get to curl well and with my hair type it would look silly to wear them straight.

I think that long bags typically look best on curlies depending on your hair type. I'm probably going to start using rod curlers just for the front to help get the perfect coils and then maybe I will like my bangs more.

I've seen cute curlies with bangs, so I know it's possible!

I'd like to have them, because my face looks cute with bangs but I can't STAND the way they feel! I had bangs about two years ago, and couldn't wait to grow them back out. So, much as I like they way they look, it's not worth how I feel with bangs.
