How do you apply your stylers?
Do you rake? Scrunch? "Rake and shake"? "Supersoak"? "Scrunch n pump"? Towel blot ever? Drip dry?
Just wondering what gets the best results without diffusing. Thanks!

I scrunch in a curl creme, scrunch in KCCC, and then scrunch and pump a gel and then I scrunch with a towel before plopping. I've tried raking but scrunching gives me better clumps

i rake my first layer products then super soak then scrunch in gel on top. i find raking and combing gives better distribution, but the last layer has to be scrunched or the clumps get messed up. i've been diffusing a lot in the winter, but in the summer i air dry.

Rake in leave in, scrunch in gel or curl cream. Then diffuse for about 5 minutes and then air dry.

I gently stroke or "pet" my mousse/gel onto my outer layer to make sure it has coverage (I can't rake or my fingers pull out some of the curl) and then I scrunch some more in from the bottom.
I used to flip my head upside down and then scrunch it in that way, but the under layers ended up getting most of the product and they don't really cooperate anyway, so it didn't make sense.

Well, I often diffuse to at least 50%, especially this time of year.
But, I comb out in the shower, put in LI, scrunch in handfuls of water ("super soak", in a way), then scrunch until it stops dripping.
Then I add more LI if needed, seal with oil, then apply gel. Technique is a mix - I smooth sections with product, then scrunch. Sometimes a "scrunch and pump" type of action, or a scrunch and squeeze.
Then I will MF towel scrunch it- gently. (i slowly lift it with the towel, squeeze ad hold for a few seconds, the slowly release it.) If I'm not planning on diffusing, I do this more thoroughly.
Then I put just a tiny bit of gel in my hands, mix it with a little oil or condish, and gently scrunch it into the ends. Then I plop.
Sounds long and involved, but it takes just a few minutes. (less than 5 from it of shower to plop.). I'm just being thorough in description!

Oh! Will be experimenting with using a super absorbent shammy under a flour sack towel soon, too! I'll let you know how that goes when not diffusing!

I do my final rinse in the shower bending over with my head upside down. Then, I rake in my leave-in and my curl cream with my head still upside down.
To dry it, I scrunch it a little bit while still upside down. I take my plopping t-shirt and use the edges of it to scrunch out a little water. Then I plop into the center of the t-shirt. When I plop, I don't set my t-shirt on anything because I spend a lot of time using a communal dorm shower where I can't just do it on the toilet or whatever. So, I hold my t-shirt stretched out on my arms from wrist to elbow, and I bring my head down on it. Then I pull the edges around my head and bunch it together in the back with a ponytail holder. I think it works the same as normal plopping.
I leave my hair in a plop for a couple minutes while I get dressed. Then I take it down. I divide it into two sides by bringing it to the front of each shoulder, I scrunch gel to each side.

Rake through quarter sized dollop of LI(mixed with oil), wide tooth comb, rake another dollop with oil, run hair lightly under shower stream (variation of super soaker, I guess), finger comb to one side then squeeze out access water/product...flip...finger comb then squeeze to the other side. I dont use any true stylers, just LI+Oil. I really wanna try raking in product upside down for the volume! Won't I get dizzy?

I rake. My hair is entirely to thick to scrunch in product. I will scrunch with water after, if I feel I have over raked.
Air dry, no towels of any kind allowed!

I just squish everything in. It's easy and it doesn't disrupt my curl pattern.

I always diffuse, usually for less than 10 minutes. I have a lot of hair. When wet it is BSL.
- tip my head over when wet, scrunch and then rake in my leave-in conditioner
- tip head over and scrunch in curl enhancer (normally jelly-type product, cream or pudding
- stand up and rake in the middle back of my head (otherwise I get a frizzy strip in the back of my head
- tip back over and scrunch in some gel for hold
- plop hair in a curlease towel
- leave it in the towel while I put my makeup on
- take out towel and scrunch in a serum type product (either CIAB or Gel-les'c
- tip my head over and diffuse until my curls feel firm
- stand up and continue diffusing until curls are formed
- bobbypin
- diffuse for another minute max
- all done. It takes me longer to do my makeup than it does to diffuse my hair
