Product that helped me with Flat Top

Has anyone here tried Loreal Everstyle Volume Root Lifting Spray? I spray the roots with it after putting gel in and then use the the metal clips. I am impressed with it! I have very fine, flat hair and this gives it some hold and lift and it is alcohol-free and cheap!

Interesting! Flat top is one of my pet peeves. Is it like hair spray?

It is like a liquid spray.

Just make sure you also use clips with it. I put the metal clips in like clothes pins.

technique to help prevent flat top

my hair has been not flat for quite a while, not root curl, but just perked up. however, there are days when i leave in too much conditioner and i can tell after i blot and scrunch my hair i will have flat top.
what i've been doing (actually got the idea watching my daughter refresh my granddaughters' 3c curls, and this she got from our hairstylist) is taking random sections on top that seem to be 'stuck' to head, or under other curls, and i twirl them. nothing precise, just picking up sections here and there from the top that seem they are weighed down or caught under another section of hair, and giving them a twirl and setting them down.
it's not that it gives me root curl (i do have a very few random 3b curls on the crown, but the hair i am talking about is typical 3a, flat at the root), it seems to give it more 'umph!.' wave/curl. it takes me about 10-20 seconds to do this. and it makes a big difference.

Thanks rbb! I might try that technique with the root lifter product.

Hmmmm. Two things to try together :pl:

I looked for the root lifter and was told it was all sold out - so maybe we are on to something here!

I bought the last one at my local Duane Reade. It must be popular!
