Hi Ajd, I have done roller sets to straighten my hair with plastic rollers and also electric heated rollers and I've been happy with the results because my straighter hair style lasts for days and I don't have to keep re-wetting my hair. I've stopped doing it because I am worried about tension alopecia (losing hair along the crown because of the pulling of the rollers).
I actually like the curly look better on me, but it is a pain to have to keep doing it every day. I still can't get 2nd day hair unless I use rollers. My hair isn't long enough to try out braiding or twisting for a straight set.
Good luck with this method! Definitely it can work and makes a nice change.
