Roller set hair straight?

I know people have done this and actually I've tried it and got alright results. I just want to know someone's method that worked really well for them?

Also just out of curiosity, could it be possible to straighten hair with a braid or twist method? Like if you brushed it out? I'm just curious and don't see why it wouldn't? Doesn't seem like a huge difference.

But thanks in advance for any helpers. (:
Hi Ajd, I have done roller sets to straighten my hair with plastic rollers and also electric heated rollers and I've been happy with the results because my straighter hair style lasts for days and I don't have to keep re-wetting my hair. I've stopped doing it because I am worried about tension alopecia (losing hair along the crown because of the pulling of the rollers).

I actually like the curly look better on me, but it is a pain to have to keep doing it every day. I still can't get 2nd day hair unless I use rollers. My hair isn't long enough to try out braiding or twisting for a straight set.

Good luck with this method! Definitely it can work and makes a nice change.
2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Protein sensitive
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Experimenting with cones & sulfates while the dews are high.
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.

Okay thanks a lot. (:
I heard about these mesh sheets that can be used to keep the ends from getting frizzy in a youtube video.
They're called Mesh End Wraps and I think the woman and the video got them from Sally Beauty. Definitely worth trying. See (2:25 and so on in the video link below for how to use them). She got nice, sleekifide results.

Thanks for posting hemera. When I was young we used to use "end papers" on your hair before rolling all the time. Then they seemed to vanish from drug stores. They definitely made a difference.
