Default Do Cocamidopropyl betaine and other gentle non-sulfate cleansers remove silicones?

I have been under the impression for awhile that many silicones need a surfactant or sulfate shampoo for removal, or else they will buildup. However I thought gentle cleansers could remove the slightly water soluble cones and such. However I have been reading around, and most of the articles say Cocamidopropyl betaine and other gentle cleansers can remove all silicones... Just wondering if you guys think this is 100% true, and personal experience from those that use cones and sulfate free poos. Thanks

What's the Scoop on Silicones?

For me, yes, coca betaine is enough. I've used sulfate-free low-poos, like Renpure, that have coca betaine and they remove my heavy-duty layers of silicone with no build-up at all!

I am CG but when I used cones all I did was make sure I used a shampoo with that ingredient and that was how I got them out. I haven't used a sulfate shampoo in Lord knows how long. I do see curlies on here telling people they have to use a sulfate to remove silicones and buildup but I don't find that to be the case. There is an old naturally curly article listing all the silicones and what it takes to remove them. Should answer your questions.

I also have no issues with silicone buildup when I use coco betaine. I'm very modified CG and will use silicone styling products about once a week or so.
