So I have long hair. It's part curly, part wavy. The layers on top are curly, while the layers under are just wavy.
When I was a child my hair was straight - but then it got wavy, then curly, as it was thin before and got really thick later.
I often straightened it before I even needed to - so it's even more dry than it would be naturally. And it's kinda damaged. So could that be the reason that a part of it won't curl?
Also, now I always have to do something with it - either straighten or curl it, because I can't leave it so weird looking.

It also is very frizzy and it kinda "bloats" ? I don't know a better term.

What to do with it?

sounds as if your hair is seriously dry. i bet it will be all curly after deep conditioning with heat, protein treatments and a haircut/trim putting LONG layers into it.

what products do you use currently? do you know your hair's properties?

I use shampoo , a hair mask, and a hair conditione.

I have wavy hair in the very front around my face and on the top layer of my hair and tighter curls underneath - I have been trying different no heat curls doing rag type curls or large pin curls - I tried bantu knots and they were way to tight - will keep trying different methods - I really want to stay away from heat on my hair
