The soufflé is like a gel...it's clear...very moisturizing could get greasy if u used too much. For me it offered great hold with a bit of crunch if u use too much or if hair isn't soaking when u apply
The smoothie is white..supposed to offer hold but not very much. Moisturizing and thick. Won't really keep u from getting frizzy. Offers a bit of definition.
For me the smoothie just added to my moisture..gave it a bit of weight to help with shrinkage and really helps combat the slight crunchiness from the soufflé. The soufflé made me really shiny. The smoothie won't so don't use too much.

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

I have not tried the smoothie yet, but basically I've been told the smoothie is like a moisturizing curl cream, where the soufflé is like a jelly/gel.
Some people even say they have used the smoothie as a DT. I'm planning on trying it ASAP!

I've been applying a bit of smoothie when I get home from work before I go to bed too...just for extra moisture

Do you then wash it out in the morning? Or just rinse? Or does this help with 2nd day hair?
I will add a little oil before bed sometimes. Or condish if I know I'm going to wash the next day.
I need to get my humidifier out and running again here soon. That helps a lot in the winter, I find.

I never do second day hair...I tangle too easy. Last few times I did it I was lo-pooing in the morning. And my hair still felt moisturized after...not sure if it's cause of the smoothie...or the shampoo I'm using. SheaMoisture Yucca Baobab stuff

I hear it's basically the same as the smoothie only a lighter version.

HOLY CRAP THIS IS MY FAVORITE GEL EVER (besides deva curls). But for cheaper I love this. It leaves a gel cast one dry, but then I shake my hair and then its smooth and moisturized. The only thing is I don't find it to be good on dry hair. I think it works best on just out of the shower, dripping wet hair.
It smells amazing and does leave your curls more thicker and clumped, but in a good way!

I just got this today and tried it out. Not sure if I like it yet. I had a lot of crunchiness. Might be good to use when I do my hair before bed and then leave cast until morning. It also made my hair tangle.

The souffle is very concentrated. 1
Tbsp is more than enough for my 4a midneck length (if stretched) hair. Flaxseed gel gives the same result but u must use more of it (maybe 4 tbsp). I love both but now use flaxseeds
The smoothie is not a good curl enhancer but the bestest deep conditioner.

Hair twin, you win again. I need to get the soufflé. DH has pretty much taken over the smoothie anyways (he's a 3b/c).
Does it give good definition? I have like NO definition.

I think it has good definition! But do I establish my clumps and such prior to using the soufflé.
If it gives you too much crunch, be sure you are putting it on soaking wet hair, and that you aren't using too much. I also put LI in mine first, too.
Give it a try, hair twin!!

Same here. I read so many glowing reviews but it made my hair feel like greasy hay. It was awful. I tried it a couple of times before I gave up and threw it away. I really like SM products but this was a miss for me as was the hold and shine spray. Love most of the other products though.

 that's too bad!!
It is fairly concentrated, so I can see how that might happen for some.
But they greasy hay description - that just seems so off to me!! (Maybe it's the aloe, or glycerin, or protein? Idk!)
Isn't it funny how a product can be a disaster for one person and an HG for another?? Crazy fickle curly hair!! Lol!!

"Greasy hay" is the perfect description for what my hair was like after using this (see my earlier post)! I wanted to like it but...no!

YES! Greasy hay is how I would describe it on my hair. It left a greasy coating as well as the stringy crunchines, with weird frizz.. I don't think my hair liked something in it, I just wish I knew for sure what ingredient my hair doesn't like. maybe the glycerin or protein. I don't know.
