Default Finally!!

My daughter used to hate her curly hair. She demanded straight hair. I refused because her hair is beautiful. So last July I made a pact with her. I would cut the relaxer out of my hair if she gave her hair a chance with the CG Method. Yep she fought me hard but reluctantly agreed (she's 11). So out came the scissors and off went my relaxed hair despite my fear of my natural hair (which I couldn't remember ever seeing and my mother claiming my natural hair was "rough"). After all a deal is a deal!! We started the CG method together. A few months into it and her complaints gradually started to decrease. As of now she LOVES her hair (thank you Jesus and the CG Method) and I have been freed from the bondage of the relaxer. I am including pics of both of us. Forgive me if they are large or sideways (posting from my cell phone).

*I have cut my hair four times since last July to get rid of scab hair and finally am rid of it. Thank God!!

Your daughters hair is beautiful and so is yours. I just adore long curly hair. Congratulations to you and your daughter on your success on the cg method.

beautiful curls!! both of you will look back and be soooo happy you did this for both of you. you have really helped her like her hair/looks, she is beautiful.
i know what you mean about being freed from the 'bondage' of the relaxer, as i stopped coloring my hair almost 4 yrs ago (something i wanted to do for years but always dreaded that transition) and whenever i see a woman with her roots showing i just think, thank god i don't have to deal with the whole process, the dye, the conditioning, the too dark week the first week, 3rd week fading and roots showing.... it is a relief! and i am so happy with my hair as i am sure you are too. it will be fun watching it now that you are CG.

Thank you. I'm so happy she appreciates it now. I don't know if I have the patience to grow mine long. We shall see.

Thank you. It's been a long battle with her and her hair but glad it turned out good in the end. Love your natural hair color.

Good going! I had my hair curly between the ages of 12 and 13, but then started straightening it to fit in. I wish so much I could go back in time and help my younger self take better care of my curls so I wouldn't have wasted a whole decade flat ironing my hair every week.

Hope your and your daughter's curly hair journey keeps getting better.

Both of you have beautiful hair! And your hair is definitely not 'rough' as your mum described. I noticed that when my mum was dealing with my hair it was rough because we have totally different textures and although she meant well, blow drying a child's hair is bound to make it rough because it was left so dry!
Congratulations to you on your big chop (s). How do you make sure that you don't over condition the hair? I tried CG but after a great week, my hair went mushy and refused to dry. Do you sulphate shampoo every so often?

You guys' hair is so beautiful!!! I wish my mom had left my hair curly when I was little. By now I'd know what to do with it. LoL!

Congrats. And enjoy naturally curly bliss.

Thank you. My daughter fought me hard but I didn't want her to ruin the beautiful hair God gave her. So glad she finally has accepted her hair.
