hello everyone i just did mu big chop in decemeber it might be early but i am having bad hair day after bad hair day. I think i have 2c hair. See Pictures. Im unsure what products to use or styles. When it dries its just a ball of mess my curls are just messy and fuzzy and they never lie down or anythng school restarts in a few and i can let my hair be a problem and apart from that i dont want to go back to relaxing me hair because i regret my BC. I like my hair only when its wet cuz that the only time actually looks nice. Please i need some help.:sad2:

Krissy, your hair looks pretty to me and healthy, but of course it's hard to tell exactly from pictures.

I think your hair is more like 3c than the curl types you suggested. I've always thought 3c should be one of the easiest to curl (but I often want something other than my 2c/3a curl type haha!). Curl envy.

You might want to check some of the other forums like 3b and 3c for suggestions and post there. Many curlies think that the properties of your curls (like porous or not porous) are just as important as the curl type. The properties help you figure out what products to try.

In the meantime, try posting a description of your method and we'll see if we can make good suggestions. Describe what products you use and your technique for styling your hair. Be encouraged - it takes a while to figure it out but it's worth it.

Curl type can be transient depending on weather, products, technique, etc. Hair properties are much more important for choosing ingredients/products to use. Here's a link to help you with yours Live Curly Live Free - Curly Hair Basics Once you determine your hair properties, you can look for people with hair like yours and see what they use (in signatures.) It's the best place to start.

Ditto^^^^

Attention Newbies: please take the time to try to figure out your hair properties before asking for advice especially for products. And I don't mean just curl type.

thanks ladies, well i washed my hair today and i used olive oil hair lotion then i applied creme of natures leave in conditioner and then some olive oil on top of that and i blowed my curls a little to about 50% dry and it actually came out great my curls we defined and it looks really nice and the frizz wasnt as much. I think the hair lotion helped my hair with the frizz. i washed with Garnier Fructis Daily Care Shampoo and Tresseme Anti- Breakage Condtioner. At the end i add a little Garnier Pure Clean Gel. That gel works great no crunch at all. I do plan on trying new products but im using what i have seeing im newly natural. To be honest my hair just had me down yesterday. But thanks ladies for the advice about my hair type. I was more unsure about the hair type than any thing else so that will definity help me with hair care my hair is low porosity. I found a link on how to test it. They said to get a strand and place in water if it sinks its high if it floats is low. So that how i know. Thank you all for your advice. :toothy4:
